I live in Northern California and have several meters of snow every winter. All my roses are in big pots and spend the winter in my garage. Japanese roses are starting to become popular here and I have about fourteen varieties. They are amazing!
Japanese roses are not very popular in the U.K. they seem difficult to acquire. God bless you and your brave countrymen and women. I hope peace comes soon.
It does not feel good in the humid climate or during long-lasting humidity weeks. It definitely needs reach soil. My bush was planted in more sandy soil thus does not show the prominent growth this year
