The feeling you must get from the thought of your own hands collecting these specimens from down under, then caring for them back @ home ....unreal Keep it up bud !!
Love the corals and fish! Good to know I’m not the only one that still manual feeds trace elements. Always hear reefers knocking on trace elements during live chats. Knowing that you do it too I feel much better. Cheers from California!
Jake your youth and energy is inspiring. How do you keep up all this.. the responsibility to keep these living things happy..replicating nature..takes knowledge and complete dedication..much respect 💞👊🏼👍🏼
Good job. You have plenty of corals that will definately start to flesh out the reef tanks in the Studio. Would love to have a job and studio like this and get all this stuff funded. Your info is great.
RU-vid channels like these are so under appreciated.. they deserve so much more views for the knowledge and understanding of this hobby. but noooo people just want to watch a goldfish getting eaten.
Killer work Jake. Curious what you use for biological media? I'm opening a small store soon and the transition from a hobby to a more retail setup has me second guessing what I need for filtration. Algae has been an issue on my low boy frag tanks lately.
What do you propose as the reasons for the different colorations of the coral skeletons and their polyps? What drives this? Can you force one color coral to become another combination?
Some corals look different in different lights, birdsnest for example can completely change color between different lighting intensities, spectrums, or bulb type
ive really gone off the 'blue/cold' lighting. and being a plant grower maximising light efficiency i struggle to go with multiple led on areas hps would cover for example. my first reef/seahorse tank cracked this week! whyyyyyyyyy? talk about panicking
Me: focus on soft corals you will do well Also me: no i can try that LPS Also me: so my corals are not growing very well Also me: okay I can give them more time
Almost a month ago I ordered two reefbuilder T-shirts and two posters. I selected priority mail international and paid in advance. I paid $112,- because I liked having a shirt showing my support to the RU-vid channel and great informative website of Reefbuilders. I contacted ReefTeez by sending an e-mail every week for four weeks and filling in the ‘contact us’ form on the website several times, but there has been no response whatsoever. I’m not sure what I should do at this point. I still think trying to contact you is the right thing to do, so this will be another attempt. I would greatly appreciate any information about my order #1338. Just a response would be nice at this point. Cheers, Niels
Very nice. I'm so tired of all these hyper blue tank photos and videos. Back in the day, it was something disingenuous coral retails would do, but not it seems like lots of people (newbies especially) are running blue only tanks all day. Also, hot damn those are some fat mandarins.
Hyper blue/purple washing. You cant even tell the natural color of the coral these days. At frag swaps I have to ask the vendor if they can turn the lights to a normal spectrum to see what the colors actually are. Anybody can shine a blue light on something and call it blue.
@@danielf9052 agreed. It's not like pits something new, but asst least 5 and 10 years ago the community ridiculed people for this dishonest practice. Now many people actually run their tanks like this full time.
