Nice to see clear footage of my childhood home on Argyll Street. I would have been 5yrs old when that footage was taken in 1963. Can still remember the street without the Epiphany church.
She got of the train at the old station. I was at the rowlatt school and we all had to line up on station foad to wave to her then we got the rest of the day of.
The Queen popped in to a house on Greenhill Rise for a cup of tea with owners with all her flunkeys as well.... 😳😳😳.. I bet the best China was out that day and the place was spotless.... 😁😁😁😁
I was 3 years old at the time , we had just moved to Corby and lived in The Grove , no bathroom and an outside toilet . I was bathed and dressed in my best clothes to wave a little union jack flag as her car passed by at the top of the street
William Cowie Wow, what a blast from the past. My abiding memory of you is this. We were at the Exeter school. We used to all hold hands and run around making a snake of maybe 20 kids. You would be last in line, we would whip round and you would take to the air, still holding on like grim death and yelling. Was that indeed you?
William Cowie I only have a few memories of that school too. That is why your name stood out to me, that one is crystal clear. Chances are high you are the same person from back then. If so, you are the only one from that time I am now in contact with. 50+ years back in history. Incredible. I have been in Canada 30 years now. I'm an Author. Back in those distant school days I was pretty anonymous. My dad drove the bakery van. First for Allan's bakery, then for Derek's.
