On December 7, 2023, the population and the staff came together for a greater cause and purpose. 1.9 million people were diagnosed with cancer in 2022 in the United States. 609,360 people succumbed to cancer in 2022 with 91,250 of those deaths were children. The walk to end cancer was the first of its kind at Corcoran State Prison. Facility 3B staff Monica Bonilla has been tracking the donations at well over $10,000 to date with about a week left on the deadline.
