2019 Laguna Beach Festival of Arts Téka on vocals & guitar, Kevin Winard on drums & vocals, Thomas Zink on piano, Kye Palme on trumpet/ flugel horn and Hussain Jiffry on bass
Don’t think I have ever heard this brilliantly written piece played so well as an arrangement. From the horn, guitar Bass and keys.....and vocals ....10/10
This music puts me into seventh heaven. How refreshing a discovery this has been. Good mood music. I'm no Bossa expert, all I know is a little bit of Antonio Carlos Jobim and Astrud Gilberto. I also have Stan Getz and the Bossa years in my collection. But Teka's Bossa with a modern touch is very refreshing. Her backing musos are top class. Obrigado Teka!! Love it👏👏👏
Oí! This is Trully an "All-Star" band, & which keeps "knocking my socks off", now I discover your excellent drummer also sings, & quite beautifully! Kudos to each brilliant player. Music for the Gods, & to top it off the Gorgeous Teka, singing & playing guitar with total mastery.... Like Djavan wrote: "E Coisa De Ascender"..... Tom Jobim Vive!
Great comment Le Roi! Some live performances sound just awful. I'm in love with all of these recordings from 2019 at Laguna Beach...better than studio quality! Wish I was closer to where they perform...Denver's a bit of a drive!
Piano man really loves what hes doing here! Yes Teka all you guys are jammin!!! Im not kidding! Missed my shot at this--- would love to do what you all are doing. Very inspired.
O wow! Kevin Winard has such a beautiful voice. Each of the band-members has their own individual talents. What a band! Love and admire you guys. Surely my favorite band. Wish you/All well, healthy. 🙂Have a lovely up-coming holiday season. Merry Christmas everyone.
Very good cover by talented musicians. It's not a so-easy job to do a cover of an overplayed standard. Teka leads this group with authority. Kudos for Kye on trumpet...
O melhor da música brasileira, mais apreciada no exterior que aqui. Mas de toda forma gratidão por voces manterem acessa a "velha chama" como a própria obra diz.
Corcovado means "hunchback" in Portuguese, is a mountain in central Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is a 710-metre (2,329 ft) granite peak located in the Tijuca Forest, a national park. Corcovado hill lies just west of the city center but is wholly within the city limits and visible from great distances. It is known worldwide for the 38-metre (125 ft) statue of Jesus atop its peak, entitled Christ the Redeemer, which was voted as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The peak and statue can be accessed via a narrow road, by the 3.8 kilometre (2.4 mi) Corcovado Rack Railway, which was opened in 1884 and refurbished in 1980, or by the walking trail on the south side of the mountain that starts from Parque Lage.[2] The railway uses three electrically powered trains, with a passenger capacity of 540 passengers per hour. The rail trip takes approximately 20 minutes and departs every 20 minutes. Due to its limited passenger capacity, the wait to board at the entry station can take several hours. The year-round schedule is 8:30 to 18:30. From the train terminus and road, the observation deck at the foot of the statue is reached by 223 steps, or by elevators and escalators. Among the most popular year-round tourist attractions in Rio, the Corcovado railway, access roads, and statue platform are commonly crowded.
@@tekapenteriche.5868 'Corcovado, in Portuguese, means "The Hunchback". It is a very strange name for a mountain so abrupt, one would rather expect a mountain that rises in altitude slowly. Its initial name was "Pinaculo da Tentacao" (Pinnacle of Temptation).' Source: Wonders of the world net
