One mark of a fine guitarist is that they can make a modest instrument sound like a professional-grade one. You are certainly a fine guitarist, Florentin.
In principle , I always want to get spruce tops… but when I close my eyes and listen to the notes… the honey enveloped notes of the cedar always get me , I consistently love the sound the cedar makes. That’s the sound I want to accompany me when I am alone in the evenings and playing by myself. Cedar top is so soothing. I think if I am going to have just one guitar , it’s pretty much going to be the F7 Paco.
I have the C7 cedar and the sound is so sweet and deep at the same time; I also have a C10 spruce. But the cedar sound is the most touching as you feel the resonance.
Your videos and descriptions you give are so much more usefull and detailed than many other videos I've watched. Also you played one of Bach's pieces wich I can play too and gave me a great idea of how their sound is. Keep posting these great videos, sir🙏🏻
My untrained ears says C7 because the richness of the sound is very warm almost romantic, actually it sounds romantic. The F7 is also rich but it doesnt have the same ring to the ear compared to the C7 but it looks comfy to play. Thank you for the comparison!
You are right ... the C7 does sound a bit richer. I think this is due to the fact that the body is a bit deeper on the C7. You've got a good ear there :-) Thank you for watching.
Feb of 2023 Yamaha bought Cordoba guitars. I love the sound they produce and look forward to owning one in the near future. I think your channel is great and appreciate your talent.
I've had the Paco model for years. It sounds and plays fantastic, much better option than the C7. I was immediately convinced when I tried both of them.
Magnificent work my friend Florentin. You are a great expert on the subject. It gives me great pleasure to greet you again my friend. Best regards. 🙂💯👏👏👏🎶👍
Do you find it easier to play since the string height is about the same all the way down the neck? Any buzzing issues when fretting close to the body? Since the body is a bit thinner, do you notice it and does it make playing easier?
The difference is more noticeable in person. Basically, the C7 has a bigger sound because of the deeper body and the higher action. Thanks for watching.
The F7 Paco appears to have a bigger body than the C7, so a smaller player such as your students may prefer the C7. but, they can test both out to determine which feels better for them. what's interesting is that either can play flamenco or classical, they're almost interchangeable. Curious is whether the strings could get changed to a different brand. But i suspect that all six strings should be the same brand........
I like them both. Hard to pick a favorite between the two. I think you are right about better note separation on the Paco model. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I have the Paco and it has a very unique way of resonating - almost like it’s amplified in a way. It his a warm, sweet tone, and is almost therapeutic to play at the end of a long day - like immersing yourself in some sort of bubble bath or something. I highly recommend it.
I should have mentioned that over time spruce topped guitars do tend to improve in sound quality. That might account for the differences comparing them new.
Hi! Enjoyed your video very much👍👍. Could you do a comparison video of the Cordoba F7 vs a classical Cordoba model with a solid spruce top and laminated back and sides ?
You certainly can if you want to. You’ll have to adjust your right hand a bit, but it can work. And, if you ever switch to a classical model, you’ll notice a bit of difference in the left hand.
So what is the height of the strings at 12º fret low E on that Cordoba ? the neck is straight ? I'm used to buying flamenco guitars for up to 500€ and they always come with a high action, they write low action on their description, I read that in the 19th century there were Ramirez flamenco guitars with 1.8mm on the 12th fret without a capo, it buzzs and it is supposed to specially for fast rhythm playing i guess. The Cordoba looks good,
I wasn’t paying attention when first listening to each (was doing school work) and the c7 sounds sooo good. The paco also sounds good but I think I’m going to go with the c7.
I don’t have them near me but I am pretty sure they are both manufactured in China. For $500-$600 one cannot expect the instrument to be made in Spain. Even Cordoba’s higher models in the Artist series are made in China. Not happy about that, but it is what it is.
I know you are asking Florentin, but I have the C7 and to my ears (this is important to understand as sound is subjective) it sounds richer, fuller and warmer without losing definition and clarity in the upper register. I do prefer a more defined bottom end and the C7 has that. I tried the Paco and its a little more mid rangy (to my ears!!!) and more strident/harsh. As for comfort, to me both guitars are really comfortable, but the truss rod might be a deciding factor to accomodate the strings (as much as possible without buzzing) to your liking. For me, C7 all the way... I wouldn't say for the rest of my life since there are so many other hi end guitars to buy, but I'll own it for some time. Hope this helps. Cheers-
@@DepressedCapitalist tnx buddy for answering and taking your time to explain. You are right the C7 is reacher and have a warmer sound, but the Paco is versatile, can be played both flamingo and classic, but as you mentioned it is more harsh sounding. To mention I do play flamingo style time to time but I also love classical music, so it’s a dilemma for me to chose which one :/
@@amirtakpar9535 You are welcome. If you play or you are seriously considering Flamenco, I would consider the Paco. After all, It is good for classical guitar too. Otherwise, the C7 is a great all purpose tool. Cheers.
Hi! I have a question. I like to play flamenco. but I'm a beginner. but I also play bossa nova. I want a guitar that suits both styles. as i do some shows i need an electric guitar. I looked but didn't find any electric F7s. according to my need which of the two would you recommend? Tank’s
I have been looking at the c5 ce and the Paco c7. What is your thoughts on the comparison of the two. I am a total beginner but am contemplating purchasing one of these.
I recently played a new inexpensive Cordoba. The fret dressing was sloppy and fit/finish seemed poor for a respectable brand. Is this typical of late, or did I play a dud/Chinese knockoff?
@@florentintise Don't know. It was 300-400 new. Maybe it was dried out from hanging on the wall for ages. The fret ends were scratching my fingers badly.
Almost but not really. The neck build is different on these. Classical models have a built-in bow in the neck and Flamenco models are just straight. I am not a luthier, but I don’t think it’s just a truss rod matter.
The C7 is a Spruce as far as I can tell. It is a darkened Spruce, but I am almost positive it IS Spruce, especially from the way it looks at a closeup, and also from the sound and response.
@@florentintise The spruce c7 I see on most websites is really pale, white almost....really not sure...anyway, the c7 in the video sounds clearer, yet silkyer than the f7
Btw I was wondering if the C7 model has an "sp" model. Sometims guitars of the same model come with other colors and I wonder if there is an sp model and does it sound more brighter than the normal C model?
Hello very good I bought a guitar cordoba c3m and c5 both I did not like it so bad with manufacturing defects is what you know a classic brand much better than that
I think it was a Spruce … way too bright a color for it to be s Cedar. Maybe in the video it looks like a Cedar. Also, the sound was way too bright for it to be a Cedar. I could be wrong, I guess. I do think it was a Spruce. Thanks for watching.
