This was just great to watch again as I knit on my current Gansey. I admire your attention to detail…inspiring. Thanks for getting me started and supporting this tradition.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I almost passed this when it came up. I'm so thrilled i didn't. Beautiful quote at the end describes all I do with my hands, from baking to building. Thanks and I will be contacting you soon.😺
Watching this in May of 2024 from Vancouver BC. I really enjoyed your passion for this project. If I ever get to Cordova Alaska, I will drop in to see your shop 🚢😌
My surname is Herring, father's family originated in the North East of England, a very big family, many have migrated to Canada and the USA. I guess going back in time my ancestors were fisher folk. I will be knitting my first gansey soon and have been researching them.
Thank you for sharing. That is wonderful that you will reconnect with your family through your knitting. You will find it to be a special experience, especially if you interject your personal story into the stitches. Happy knitting!
My heart and hands are filled with so much warmth and appreciated your thoughtfulness in sharing each story and the stitches of love and grace that they created. ❤
This is wonderful. I'm not a very advanced knitter, but for my second sweater ever I'm making a plain gansey just to get the techniques in hand. I'll be following your Cordova Project for inspiration, and when my knitting is up to par you bet I'm ordering that Frangipani Cordova color from you!
Your Ganseys are amazing. I love these sweaters and have made one. Can you tell me what weight yarn you use and size needles. What is you4 gauge at a,so. Thank you. Very informative
If you are in the United States or Canada...or simply just go on line to Schoolhouse Press. They can help with the Ramsey questions, such as available yarns equivalent to the British wool used. Good luck!
Thank you so very much for everything in your video. I’ve emailed with a couple of queries. Looking forward to designing my own gansey and to join the project when I know what the colour of the gansey to the left of the Cordova coloured gansey. Yours in Gratitude
