Loved the review and the amount of detail you went through, pros and cons are very useful. Do you have a video of the core 10 person tent I couldn't find it on your channel. Kind regards Bernard 🙂
@@bernardmcevoy3740 Hey Bernard! Thank you so much for your comment and I'm really glad that you liked the review and all the details! 😊 And yep I've got a review on the Core 10P right here (is this the one you're referring to?): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JLmhLKcc1z8.html
@@bernardmcevoy3740 Hi Bernard! Thanks for the reply 😊 So sorry, I don't have a Core 10P instant review. I don't have enough money to buy multiples of the same tent in different sizes, sadly :(
Thank you so much for your lovely comment Jamie, I really appreciate it! 😊😊 And I'm glad the mask didn't bother you, and thank you for the encouragement too! I still sometimes get hate comments for it though, so I really want to move away from it from now on hahaha
Thank you so much Ness! I'm really glad that you liked the review 🥰 I do wanna publish a best family camping tent video, but that won't be ready for a few months sadly :( If you let me know what you need in a tent, plus the budget that you have, perhaps I can help you out too. Feel free to let me know any questions you may have as well 😀
Great review. I just bought this tent and will be going camping in Utah with wife in a couple weeks. Will probably seal the floor seams just as a precaution.
I've used this tent through 3 seasons of family car camping. It has stood up to some pretty strong winds (strong enough to knock down nearby trees). It is huge and spacious for four. The door zippers snagging on the rain fly is our biggest gripe. Great coverage of the ease of use!
@annibellyroll Thank you so much for sharing! I really appreciate it 😊 It's great to know that it stood up against strong winds, I'm really pleasantly surprised to hear that! 😊 Cabin tents like this tend not to do as well in wind. And yes I totally get it about the snagging. But hope the pros still outweigh the cons here 😊
I purchased this tent after watching your review. I put it up a few days ago and I love it! I took the time to waterproof it with Scotchguard Water Shield and seam seal it. We had a rainstorm all night and a thunderstorm this morning. The tent remained dry. Thank you soo much for your input! ☺
@KL VR Thank you so much! I'm glad that I could help you with your decision and also with the waterproof testing!! It really means a lot that you've got a great working tent now that can stay dry in thunderstorms 😊 I hope you continue to love camping in it as much as I did! 😊
This is an amazingly detailed video. I just bought this for my family of 6 and stumbled onto this video while trying to figure out best way to set it up. Thank you for this and especially the thorough testing under light and heavy rain conditions! Best of luck and wish you great success
Thank you so much Tom! I really appreciate all your kind words, they mean a lot! 😊 Did you manage to find the best way to set it up? Let me know how it goes for you and your family! I'd love to hear about it 😊
Excellent review! Not only just the facts and figures of the tent, but the extensive amount where you’re mentioning details experience campers would know and trust like lack of bathtub flooring, storage footprint , and rain details-that’s the thing that really got me. Well done!!
Thank you so much Amanda! I’m really glad that you liked the review plus all the extra details! It means a lot to me that you took the time to tell me too 🥰❤️
great detailed review as always. Realised a lot of Coleman tents leak under heavy rain. Sad to say that always rain in Singapore, a leaking tent is out, at least for me. Thanks for the review
You're most welcome Vincent! And thank you so much for your comment and support 😊 Glad that you liked the review! If you don't mind sealing the leaky seams, Coleman tents are actually pretty decent against Singapore rain!
Would you recommend this over the CORE 10? I'm tall being 6'7". The instant tent feature is nice, but layout and size gives the CORE 10 an advantage? Both in Canada come with a full cover rain fly.
Hey Daniel! That depends on whether you prefer the instant tent feature, or the height. The Core 10 is wayyy taller, which might make it much better for your height. I have a video that's just published that may help to answer your question a little better 🥰
This was the kind of detailed review I was looking for when researching this tent, thank you!!! I’m so confused as to why tent companies don’t all use the bathtub style flooring like Coleman tents have, I never had to worry about any leaks with that brand. And the why is the rain fly so tiny 😂 I think I have to keep looking lol
Oh a lot of higher tents i noticed use seam taping instead of bathtub style flooring. And if the seam taping is good, the tent won't leak, even if it doesn't have a bathtub! As for the tiny rainfly, that's just bad design HAHA
@0:45 Looks like you're using a 2-handed method when setting this up alone. Pulling up the poles 2 at a time should ease setup when solo. Great idea! I'll have to try that with my Coleman 6 Instant tent. Might reduce the risk of bending or breaking the poles too. Thanks!
You’re most welcome! 😊 and yeah I think 2 handed is the easiest when doing it alone. I think I should have mentioned that in the video 🤔😅 let me know how it goes with your Coleman 6! I think the instant mechanism might be slightly different though.
@7:44 Thanks for showing the tent without the rain cover. I just bought a teardrop camper, and this tent which I own will be my shelter that comes with us when we go camping. This way we'll be protected by bugs and can stretch our legs and enjoy meals outdoors, without being cramped in the camper.
Hey you're welcome! I'm glad it could help you out 🥰 Oh wow that's so exciting! Will this tent take up too much space in your teardrop camper though? It feels so huge compared to what your camper looks like! 😅
Great review and excellent views on all the important things, thank you so much, no problem with the mask, wear it if you want, but again brilliant review, they should pay you lol
Thank you so much Ann! I'm really glad that you liked the review and I'm glad that I managed to cover all the important things 😊😊 And thanks for understanding about the mask! I've since decided to move away from it because I was taking a lot of heat for it haha
I'm thinking of using MSR Groundhog stakes with this tent, just wondering, how would you use that Y-Stake on the corner of the tent? Just drive it through the grommet / hole or would it be better to tie another piece of cord to the grommet / hole then to the groundhog stakes?
Those are definitely much more solid than the provided stakes! Hmm I normally just drive it through the webbing loop provided hahaha. I don't normally camp in a lot of wind so I've never experimented with other staking methods 😅
Great tent reviews. Based on your review of the Outdoor Products 10 person instant tent, I was going to purchase that tent. But here in the states, Costco had a CORE 10 person instant lighted tent for $220 after a $50 dollar discount. I went with the CORE 10 person instant tent instead. This tent is essentially the same as the Core 9 person instant tent. Watched your review numerous times to get tips on setup and take down. Again, great reviews and your video helped making the choice much easier when I seen the Core tent at the price point of $220.
Thank you so much Joe! It really means a lot that you like all my reviews, and thank you so much for watching them! 😊 Oh WOW the instant lighted tent sounds awesome, and especially for the price! To be honest, I think I paid about $220 for this 9P Core tent, so I think yours is definitely a much better deal. I'm really glad you went for it! And yay! I'm really glad that my tips could help you out with the set up and take down too! 😊
Thank you so much for your comment! 😊 And yeah for sure you gotta do some waterproofing work on this one before taking it out in the heavy rain for sure.
Does in stand the Snow ? And why do you have a mask on outside , WHY ? I see about the mask now . Does this tent handle cold weather I have my doubts ?
Hi Kimberlee! So sorry about the mask! I only left it on cos I was camera shy, and didn’t want my face to be on the videos. I’ve moved away from it now! 😊 and sadly I don’t have any experience camping in snow and cold weather :( it’s only ever summer where I am. But if I were to guess, I think this tent is definitely more of a summer tent than a cold weather tent. The rainfly is really small, and there’s a lot of mesh all over the tent making for a great summer tent. On the other hand, cold weather tents are more like the REI Base Camp with a full rainfly and a lot less mesh. I hope this still helps! 😊
Thanks for the input! 😊 yeah, that’s what I think too haha. But I find that more budget friendly tents tend not to be well protected from leaking. And core is a pretty budget friendly tent I think 😊
@braꓘKton Lee You're most welcome! I'm glad you liked this video, and thank you so much for your comment! 😊 Glad that I could help make your decision a little easier 😊
Hi Christos! I think your best bet is getting it from Amazon UK but I think it's not available at the moment :( I actually got mine from Amazon US, but used a third party shipping company to get the tent into Singapore (where I'm located) at MUCH cheaper shipping and tax rates than what Amazon quotes. I hope this helps! 😊
Hey Phillip! Sorry I don't know the answer to this cos I don't have the Core Performance :( But to be honest I don't think they would perform very differently!
Hey there! Sorry about the mask, I used to wear it only because I was camera-shy and didn't want my face to show up in the videos 😅 I wanted this channel to kinda be a "faceless" one hahaha. I hope this makes more sense!
@Holy Smokes! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave me such a lovely comment 😊 I'm really glad that you liked the review and all the details! 😊
6:19 The t-door with 3 zippers seems to leave a rather large hole when "closed". Plenty large enough for bugs and such to enter the tent..... Fix for this?
Hey! Thanks for the input and feedback 😊 I think I didn’t make sure the 3 zippers were fully closed when I took that shot 😅 so sorry about that! I never had an issue with bugs though. But one of my viewers told me before that she wedged some paper into that “zipper hole” of another tent of hers and that helped the bug problems! I hope this helps? 😊
@@CampingGuidance No problem at all and thank you for the clarification! My wife and I really like the Coleman Octagon 98 with Half Fly but it doesn't have an e-port..... Want the option to bring a box fan for the tent if the campsite has electricity, so I think we are going to get this Core instant 10-person for $199. Would just do the 8-person but it is oddly more expensive right now.
You’re most welcome! Oooh I don’t have the Octagon but it looks super cool! Sucks that it doesn’t have an eport though. :( I think that’s a really great price for the tent! Especially the 9P. I think I paid more for it, and that was at least 2 years ago 😅 weird! Let me know how it goes! And if the zipper hole is too big you can try plugging it with rolled up paper! 😊
I got the core 4 person instant straight walled tent based on your reviews. Im a single person who just failed at setting up a regulsr tent so i just returned it and will get an instant tent instead. Im 4 foot 10/11 do you think i will be able to pull the walls up enough to be able to pushing up the poles ?
Hi Abby! Thank you so much for supporting the channel and getting the 4P from my reviews, it really means a lot! 😊 I think pulling up the walls won’t be a problem because the joint is in the middle so you can probably pull it up. I’m not sure about the rainfly though, maybe you might need some help with that :(
You’re welcome Abby! Oh yeah that’s definitely the best idea. Omg I know I recommended that in this video, but I totally had a brain fart moment and forgot about it 😅 let me know how it goes! I think it should work 😊
Hi Giuliano! Thank you so much for your comment, I'm really glad that you liked the review! 😊 Hmm there are definitely pros and cons to the full rainfly. It helps with rain protection but full rainflies also decrease ventilation. I would recommend the full rainfly only if you're expecting lots of rainy weather 😊 Hope this helps!
I'm torn between this and a canvas Kodiak 9 x 8 tent. I'm 64 so I'm looking for simplicity. I already have the Coleman 10 x 9 instant, and it's great. Just looking for more room for our Corgi.
@HerrP Thanks for letting me know! Hmm if you're looking for simplicity and more room for your Corgi, then I think this Core 9P would be a better fit. It sets up much more easily, and it's a size upgrade too. The Kodiak Canvas tent that you're looking at will take much more time to set up and it's a smaller tent too. I don't have it though! But I have heard very good things about the quality and durability of their tents, so that's something I've been wanting to test for a while now. I hope this helps! 😊
@@CampingGuidance Thanks for taking the time to reply. When it comes to weight, canvas is pretty heavy. And since we live in the US state of Georgia, a Kodiak would be pretty darn warm in this heat. 2 major plusses in Core's favor. Cheers.
@@herrp8765 You too! Appreciate your replies as well 😊 Oh wow it seems like your answer is quite clear then haha! The quality and durability won't be as good, but it seems to fit your preferences better 😊
I hope you bought this tent. I'm 64 and have had mine for 3 seasons now. I put it up easily by myself (if I remember to put the rain fly on before it goes all the way up lol) and I love how much room there is. I put my kitchen in the front and living/sleeping in the rear with plenty of room. It's been through a lot of rain and rarely has a leak in one spot. From one Corgi lover to another. '
@@msehruz7489 Appreciate your kind comments, fellow pet lover. No, haven’t made the plunge yet. But it’s not far off. But since I live in the Southeast, a canvas tent just flat out don’t make no sense a’tall, as they used to say in the Old West. Appreciate the nudge! I like your arrangement. Makes a lot of sense.
Hey Mikami! Hmm it might be possible based on the width dimensions but it'll be really tight and the mattress will probably touch the tent walls. Let me know if you decide to try that out! 😊
@@CampingGuidance we are going to be camping with foam Nugget couches (play couches for kids) 3 fit absolutely perfectly side by side as they are 33 inches wide so total 99 and will comfortably sleep 4. The tent dimensions are 108 so it's perfect. I have waterproof liners for them so it should work well
@@mikami1 Thanks for the update! 😊 Oh that's cool! I'm glad to hear that it'll fit nicely! The waterproof liners are definitely a smart move. I hope you enjoy camping with your kids in this tent! 😊
@JAH0423 Hey there! Thanks for sharing. Are you referring to the orange 10-person Core? I think ultimately the biggest consideration is the instant set up - is that something you need, or is it not a priority? 😊
@@CampingGuidance Yes! That’s what makes me think Im gonna go with the 9 person instant. I have the Coleman 6 person instant tent but we’re wanting something bigger, 2 adults and 2 kids under 12. I love the ease of set up and take down of the instant tents! But that orange 10 person look like it has SO much room! But again… I’m all about the ease of the setup! This is a great channel by the way!
@JAH0423 Thank you so much! I'm glad you like the channel, it means so much 😊 And yeah the 10-person Core definitely has more room, and a better configuration in case you wanna fit like 3 or 4 queen beds. (This Core 9P can fit only 2 queen beds side by side. Can't fit 3 for some strange reason.) But since you love the ease of set up, I think this 9P is definitely better for you! It'll fit 2 adults and 2 kids perfectly fine. And I think Core's instant mechanism is better than Coleman, so it's definitely worth a shot if you love instant tents 😊
@@CampingGuidance the first night last summer we had a thunderstorm and a downpour and the tent I currently have didn't leak at all but it also takes me like 30 mins with some help and I can't do that while 8 months pregnant and having twin 2 year olds getting restless lol.
@@nicolereadstarot I see! Thanks for sharing Nicole 😊 I understand where you're coming from. May I ask what tent you were camping in before? I always like to look out for good quality tents, to put on my to-buy-list for the future hahah
@@CampingGuidance Ozark trail flat creek 12 person family house tent. It even has a shower room, string lights, screen room, 2 closets and a projector screen. It was a pain to set up alone for sure but it's huge! We had 3 adults and 4 under 3 in it

@Camping Guidance I live in central California. I will use on central coast and campsites in the foothills during winter and go higher up in the Sierras in the summer to escape the heat.
@@dougdaniel6368 Ooh sounds good Doug! Let me know how it goes 😊 Although there's a lot of mesh so I wouldn't recommend it in really cold temps or anything 😊
We bought the same tent and took it camping this weekend. We caught a heavy storm in the Sierras and no leaking. Great tent. I do however wish it had the option to close the roof of the tent. It would help with sudden temperature drops. We had 2 adults and one queen size air mattress, two kids with full size cots and one large dog. Overall pitching the tent and taking it down is super easy and fast. We definitely recommend this tent. Great video review and keep the content coming. Cheers.
Hi Rene! Thank you so much for sharing about your experience with this tent! I'm really glad that it worked well for you! 😊 And yeah I agree with you on the roof as well.
