Core Concepts explores a single aspect of a film or TV series, and how that concept has impacted the medium, why I think it is worth exploring.
This episode takes a look at an old movie 'franchise' to reflect on how (if at all) it compares to modern movie franchises. Fritz Lang's Dr. Mabuse trilogy is the story of a supervillain born out of the tumultuous first half of the twentieth century, one that has had a greater impact on the modern supervillain than you might think.
