Chris, Kelly, Jeron, Roger!!! Thank you all for having me and giving us all the coolest show in skateboarding. Thank you all for checking out this episode and hope y’a dig. Xoxo
The Duffman himself! Amazing interview and in my book you are one of the GOATs of skateboarding hands down! Subscribed to your channel and always look forward to your uploads and video parts! Keep up the great work man and stay safe! 💯👍
I’m a huge Corey Duffel fan since I met him back in 2012 or so.... he was skating in a demo, he was injured, still did some tricks for the kids. He stayed the last to sign every kid an autograph. He has so much love for what he does. A great dude. All my respect 👏🏼
Hey there. Being injured is hard and I try to keep good spirits even when I can’t skate. Just thankful for the love and support in order to get back out there :)
Yooo 9 club, having the guest talk about past video clips is absolute gold. I hope you keep this format, I am sure it adds quite a bit to the production, but it is so cool. It helps that Corey has an incredible memory for detail. From both episodes, he as been one of my favourite guests. Keep it up, I appreciate what you guys do so much.
Corey is such a legend. His whole career he’s been pushing the limit and hucking down huge shit. He just filmed a video for my ten year olds sons birthday too. Such a cool dude
@@dialog2012 he was a kid. he expressed sincere remorse & apologized a million times. and he's been cool with stevie for ages.... but i guess there will always be someone like you to keep bringing up this ancient mistake to make him look bad..... congrats. u are awesome.
@@dialog2012 wow dude such breaking news. How does it feel to live in the past so much? Realize this. Stevie, along with the industry and his peers, have all forgave him and allowed him to grow as a person. It’s pretty clear that he has matured and is a kind hearted man that is remorseful and sorry for his past. Grow up dude. Move on.
@@infinidominion then get geared up to hear of This gut-wrenching game, Because fist-clenching pain Is its one claim to fame And the smell of its smoldering's Shouldering shame.
When the Duffman said, "It's hard to smile when you're hurting so bad inside..." I fucking felt that. Shoutout to all the years skateboarding added back to my life.
The Nine Club episode with Duff-Man was one of my favorites. Corey defines being a true human being, he admits his mistakes and learns from them and isn't afraid to talk about it. Respect.
@@coreyduffel Yeah, that album came out when I was a Senior in H.S. in Monterey, CA. Great memories! Thank you for the response and looking forward to your next part.
Great episode guys, really digging the added clips! That story about Jamie Thomas with the board slide, taking his cookies and peeling the Zero sticker off his car is genuinely sad. He clearly had (and still has) big respect for Jamie, despite Jamie showing him no respect at all. It's testament to Duff's character and his pure love of skateboarding.
When I was first starting to skate, I used an old crappy shop deck from my friend and skated my high school. I ran into JT aultz who just got a clip. He asked who has the worst board and I said it was me. He gave me the board and I rode that thing till it died. Hearing the story about JT getting the board from Jeron blew my mind. Jeron, I feel like your grandson!
@@Jeremy-ob4gm you have to be a member to watch sunday nights live episode...if ur a member on sunday night's now u can watch wednesdays episode live and unedited while they record it for wednesday...also if ur a member u get these interviews sundays instead of Monday
Garret Hill has my favorite Pop Shovit..Feed the Need is still epic till this day. Shout out to the Nine club for keeping the spirt of skateboarding going! Love this show 👊🏽
I skated for about 30 years from age 10 to age 40. I fucked up so much shit on my body, especially on my right side. I have a bad hip and knee and back. This year I got an Inguinal Hernia at work and that is by far the most excruciating pain I have ever had in my life. It started as a little bump, now it's a golf ball sized part of my intestines poking out of my groin. I have to keep an ace bandage wrapped around my waist all day to keep my guts tucked in. It's like being stabbed in the groin all day everyday. This happened back in May and I think I'll get surgery in the next month. Injuries suck.
Corey just made me feel better about my skating suffer with severe anxiety and his comment about doing what you love and what is fun for you and it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, I'm still learning but feel like my anxiety hinders me but his positive outlook has really helped thank you Corey and the nine club👍
Oh yeah and it should absolutely be a new thing on Stop and Chats to pull some of the guests best clips and get some behind the scenes. That was awesome
35:35 reminds me of a demo that came to town, power shoes, short lived willy santos shoe brand with dayne brummet james craig etc. but i was excited to see Josh Evin (Canadian Legend RIP)... but he was wandering the park chatting up with kids cuz he was riding out an injury. kinda bummed i couldnt see him rip but just to meet him was heavy. Also met Corey at a big event in Niagara Falls about 10 years ago, it got rained out but the pros all signed autographs and played a game of skate under a tent... PJ vs PROD was heavy to see in person... that would have been a crazy demo. "Take the Cake" if that rings any bells.
I remember this. I was not in a good place. Was stoked to be in Niagara and see the falls. It was cold and being told to play a game of skate on wet wood was so difficult for me. I actually broke my foot rolling it on the nose. I quit in the middle and walked off so bummed. The course looked fun too.
30 minutes watching this, the question since I'm 13 years old about filming and taking a pic of the trick at the same time already answered! Thanks, Kelly and Corey!
One of my favorite skaters since I first got a Thrasher mag in middle school years ago! This has also been one of my favorite interviews so far. A lot of the commentary behind the clips was super insightful and interesting. Hell yeah Corey!
Absolutely fucking loved this one!! Corey just has amazing energy and comes across as extremely genuine and in a world full of followers. It is to see someone blazing their own trail.
Corey is amazing man he deserves a lot more credit man he’s one of the best to do it ever and he’s my 7 year old son’s favorite and skater which is sick
The more Nine Clubs I hear the less I like Jamie Thomas, and he wasn't that high up on my list to begin with. Where's Rodge? His encyclopedic knowledge was awesome. No offense to his replacement but it's not the same recipe that made the show so good.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that feels that way, the guy seems like a real douche to be around and Corey is such a good sport about it. Doubt Jamie would have had the balls to press on someone like say... Mike Vallely maybe 😂. Probably been that way long enough to know who he can’t fuck with.
His replacement is the most OG living legend status skater of the bunch, though. And I love Jeron Wilson's always positive vibes. I also love Rog's moody vibes; they definitely added a comedic element that is missing without him. I think he's probably just over it for right now. That kind of schedule isn't easy to maintain and stay motivated, especially when you basically have to improvise a two-hour (or longer) performance and make it good first-take every time. If you're not feeling it, you still have to be there and be on camera, and that's a bummer. I'm sure he'll be back, eventually.
1:44:58 that's a good and interesting point Kelly. Never thought about that. Everybody's stance is slightly different and we all have tricks that work better for us than others 👍😊
@@martyd.451 Hahaha ya dude that was so trippy I was like woaaa what I had to find out I accidentally sent a draft to the nine club on the experience.. pretty embarrassing hahaha I checked and was like what the hell I did send a draft?? It happened cause when I won I was trying to send it from my phone and it wasn't working so I sent it from my computer and the message must of still be in the drafts? I emailed Rog and he said all good he realized it was a mistake cause it was the exact message I sent before and not like some new shit tryna come up or something
@@alextrugs hah yeah I imagine it was pretty weird to hear them start saying your name like that. At least you got a nice little anecdote from it though.
@@martyd.451 Hahaha ya dude I was all faded and so confused like what the hell no way??? I checked my email right away and was like wtf I did send a draft...? Smh 😑😂
Just starting out and damn I feel this cuz I've got to 2 docs for my knee and somethings off, but I get the standard tests and out the door. Just keep skating cuz nothing better than the freedom🤘
@Joey Maxon what an uplifting comment, way to be a positive skater, if you even are one. this is exactly how I'd want anyone to encourage me to get better at skating
Great episode, n just noticed the Positive skate shop sticker on the shelf, Boston Represent !! Props to Rog n Matt O'Brien for that shop back in the Salad Days in da bean town, 👊
