Fonzo should have told his man’s to be point blank period quiet his guy was aggressive asf and unprofessional. Fonzo is a cool cat but bad business man remind me of my suspension guy. They don’t understand how we loose content which equal money. As a owner he needs to inspect every part of the car before letting it leave the shop, regardless of $30k or $5k he accepted the job so do it.

I'm not well versed in this stuff, but from my limited knowledge, for $5k (or anything around that), it seems about right. If you go to the "right" shop, at least in Michigan, they'll tell you, it STARTS @ 12k. The shops that have had tv deals, or the shops that paints cars that win Autorama, some of those shops start at $15k and I've asked some guys with "Great 8" cars, their paint jobs were $30k. It's levels tot his stuff, as with everything in life. The issue is, some of us, if not most of us, don't know all of the levels. We don't know why one shop charges $2k to wire an engine and another guy can get it done for $400. That $2k guy, sometimes, makes your shit look like it was approved by the quality department of OEM. That takes TIME.
All the money you've paid that man. Even if they were cut. He couldn't buy a set of inner fender wells. My pops would kill me. If i let a car leave like that. When someone ask who did that. That's the shops name on that car. When people see your work. That's what brings you worj. Or it doesn't bring back potential work. He's the boss he should've looked over the car, and made sure it's ready.
Hahahahaha 5k for body work and paint on a classic!!! Boyyyyy you need to give that man another 2k🤣🤣 I paid 5k for my lac to be painted back in ‘07 and it had flaws. I just got my Cutlass painted last year and it cost me 8k with body work and its still not flawless, but looks amazing. You gotdame right you get what you pay for. Sometimes hustling the price gets you hustled. Charge it to the game.
I don’t understand how people take a whole year to work in a vehicle and only get 25% of it done it takes us 6 months until your car is ready with 100% costumer satisfaction

Being in the car business for over 20+ years from customization... to detailing... to sales - anytime somebody trying so hard to tell you how good their work looks when you come to get your car....they hiding something and it's a bunch of bullshit going on. I said it from the rip when yall first went back to look at it. A real person would have just let you look at it and see for yourself, then address anything you had a problem with...if there was a problem. This why I don't get into this anymore. It takes forever and it's a lot of bullshitters out here. Like you said...lessons learned
I went to his shop and saw flaws on every single car there. And I actually told him. He said people get what they pay for. That candy red old school Dodge had waves all through the paint job. Every car was shiny but had enough waves to surf on. He been having a bad reputation all the way around. He fools people with the videos of the cars but in person a different story
Everything you said was spot on. He's responsible for the work that leaves his shop. It looks like the hood and trunk is not flush, wires hanging on the inside. You're better than me. Some people can paint but 90% of the paint is in the prep. Then he tried to down your dad's work as good as the cars be looking that he puts out. Your dad would have done a whole lot better job than him.

A frame off for $5k? Ain’t no mf way. Body shop I worked at did a frame off 65 mustang vert and when it come out the shop the bill ended up being around $15k
I worked in the automotive industry and also own my own shops in back in the day. You should never ever give someone a deadline you always need to give someone a estimate and when that day comes then you can see what needs to be done and then make a good accurate deadline, but you can't give a day a vehicle that is getting full custom work and paint because something will come up

That’s how I felt about my right fender for my 81 cutlass I asked them to orders the part I paid them 3k to paint it over Burgundy with metal flakes once I got it home realized it was an after market fender . SMH 🤦🏾♂️

Sad truth/reality is that no one and I mean NO one will respect your car how you will. No matter what you pay. Even some of the most loved shops still have some customers with horror stories about the same shop. It grinds my gears when I see shops on BS... People who actually take pride in their work are very very rare, sad.

Those wheel wells bolt on the outside of the fender lip just like that. Looks like they have been cut to clear the large wheel and tire combo. Unfortunately that’s a necessity of the big wheel game. Very rarely do older car restorations go exactly as planned. There is usually always unseen rust/rot or previous work that has to be addressed which eats up additional time and money. If they took the body off, did the chassis, body, and paint work for 5K you got a deal and came out pretty good for what you paid. I feel like this is a classic you get what you pay for situation. You can’t pick apart a 5k job like it’s a 30k job…
If it's a 30k job and he chose to do it for 5k that's on him. Whatever Fonzo said he was going to do should've been done and complete and Corey had the right to scrutinize anything like he did.
