Corgi Ford Escort Custom 

Nice job. The Mk3 Escort came out around 1980 and came with engines ranging from the 1.1 OHV to the 1.6 CVH Turbo. The RS1600 XR3, XR3i and RS Turbo were the hot versions but the RS1600i had two (if not others) faults. Firstly it ran a twin coil set up instead of a distributor to control the firing order (a lot of owners actually changed it to a proper distributor) and secondly all RS1600i's were originally left hand drive so had to be converted to right hand drive which meant the servo had to have a conversion to make the brakes work and it sometimes failed causing the brakes to malfunction. It also had a light in the instrument cluster that came on to tell you when to change gear and the alloys were specific to this car. We had two Mk3 Escorts but weren't particularly sporty. A 1.3L and a 1.6 Ghia. We did put a twin choke Weber on them and they didn't half shift afterwards

Great work! A good friend of mine met his future wife when he sold her his Escort back in about 1994. They're still together to this day!

This is just like the one my parents had except the seats were grey , that is the perfect shade of reddish orange, the wheel arches inside the car were also the same color as the body, I would have painted those orange too on the plastic part. This is the car from my childhood.

I was given my Mother's old 1983 MkIII Escort 1.6 Ghia in 'Midnight Blue'. I was given the car when it was 9 years old and a wee bit... tired. Pretty unreliable as well. She was known as Belinda. Belinda Car-idle. I loved that car. 😢🥰

Top job on the details Danny, I had/have one of these in the same blue as my old Grandad's Escort of the era. Fairly basic but I adored it!
