It's funny how this isn't even a hobby of mine - I watch your channel because I love your presentation and I like the tips for the modeling I might eventually do when I have the space. But this car is gorgeous, both the base model and the restoration job you did. This would be one worth owning for me just to have.

I feel I have learned a lot from your videos even though I haven't gotten around to using then just yet. Especially the clear coat on the molotow, that paint has been my nemesis. I just wanted to say thank you for the work you do and share. It's a pleasure to watch and learn.

The Ford Thunderbird was from the golden era of American auto design. This was a beautiful restoration, and I hope you can find a second one to do in teal. My Dad is a mechanic, and he had a Teal 1960 Thunderbird in his shop last summer. It was the oldest vehicle that he has had there, beating our 1961 Chevy Apache by a year.
@canuckyank82
@canuckyank82 5 лет назад
I loved the real Chevy Apache. My dad's friend had one in mint or aquamarine.
@Evan_Moore61
@Evan_Moore61 5 лет назад
Michael Chugg The Apache really changed the game in the pickup truck industry. The 1958 was the first to feature a flat “fleetside” bed, and the 1960 was the first pickup to have an independent front suspension setup, making it ride more like a car than a truck and reducing wear and tear on the vehicle and driver. Apaches don’t get enough credit in the automotive world, so that’s why I’m proud to keep one of them on the road. I love them too, they’re my favorite vehicle from the 1960’s.

One of the best examples of a restored miniature car, mate. No apologies necessary. Beautiful. What a shame that the manufacturer wanted to cut costs with a cheap plastic interior, as if it would have been more difficult to make a normal plastic die cast interior.

That "Blue Stuff" kind of InstaMorph thermoplastic beads. You toss them in hot 140°F water till they turn clear and mold it whatever shape you want and when it turns white it's hardened/cooled. I never thought of using it as a mold, that's a really cool idea. Another great video as always, I love the finished product. It turned out beautiful.

“Holy Messin’ With Resin, Batman! It almost looks like our rig!” It’s funny how, now that I am retired, I find myself researching items of my younger days....and have recently developed an interest in the 1960s George Barris cars....in particular, his Batmobile based on the concept Ford Futura. I never noticed the similarities between the Futura and this year’s Thunderbird! That black and red even smacks of Baris’.....uh, Batman’s car! And I don’t know what’s up with Robin.....but there is absolutely no way that I wouldn’t be taking that hot ride out on a Saturday night with Poison Ivy! As always....Bravo-Zulu on this 1:43 model. Your ingenuity when addressing a challenge never fails to amaze me!

Fantastic job in this restoration! (I happen to like all of your restorations, but don’t let that get to your head). My Mom says my Dad’s ‘57 Thunderbird is what caught her eye, and the rest is history. The ‘59 isn’t styled much different, but if my Mom saw this one it would bring a tear to her eye. You did a great job!

The paint job came out great. It almost seems to have purplish tint but could be my screen. Molding the tires was a brilliant idea and looked as though they cast nicely. I have never seen a Cory of that scale before. The casting details look very precise. You brought the windshield back better than expected as I'm sure it's an unobtainium piece for sure. As always thanks very much for sharing your expert remanufacturing process.
