Superb restoration project my friend and the Cadillac Ambulance is looking fantastic . The work at the body and the finishing parts are getting great before the primer and painting . Besides the great restoration of the car itself Paul, you have a knack for knowing how the intricate parts work together that make the siren and flashing light work without any instructions. You're the man.
I had this exact car when I was young. I collected Corgi cars and would build cities using wooden blocks. Of course this was over 60 years ago. I’m amazed to see this ambulance. What a fun blast from the past. Really fascinating to watch how you bring something back to life. Hats off to you man.
So did I….. It was a birthday present from my dad…. I took it to school with me to show everyone… but, before the day was out, it vanished. And that was the last I ever saw of it; until watching this. 😢

I remember having this car, but the paint was completely white. And I used it as the Ecto 1 from GhostBusters and using cardboards for making the FireHouse. Your video brings me back some souvenirs.

Yet again you've outdone yourself with this restoration. I'm absolutely gobsmacked with your dedication to restoring great toys of a bygone era. Now, my father had the exact same toy given to him as a xmas present from his grandmother as a kid. As he grew up, he was made to give it to much younger cousin to play with. It was in pristine condition, it ended up damaged in a sandpit. My father was absolutely furious with the condition he saw in years later. Hence to say he wasn't very impressed with his cousin.
Was curious how far down in the comments I had to go in order to come across the first simpletons reference to Ghostbusters. Never mind the skill of this gifted craftsman.
@@choppermike3329 could be they are complete failures and can't be bothered to praise those that aren't Instead they relate the entire restoration to a superficial reference based on the viewing of a movie from Hollywood. My guess is these dunces more resemble the care less twits that allowed this toy to look the way it did before being restored by a master craftsman.

Perhaps it's the passage of time playing tricks. I had a corgi ambulance similar to this, but I recall that the small lights front and rear on the roof also flashed. I cannot remember any siren sound. More especially I remember the tailgate opened and there was a stretcher in the rear section. I know that Dinky made a similar ambulance and I may be thinking of this. Happy to be dispelled of these memories as the passage of years and hopeful youth...🤔
Awesome job, had the same toy in the mid 1960s. I later bought the black beauty with my birthday money, and gave it to my grandson for his birthday last year. Thanks for the memories.
