This au takes place a few years after tbosas canon as Coriolanus is finishing university and hunts for a wife that is not only worthy of the Snow name, but also can benefit him in some way (money, powerful family lineage).
Ever since the Hunger Games movies came out I’ve been wondering about Snow’s family and why they are such an afterthought in the story, only his one granddaughter made an appearance and he did seem to have affection for her. Of course, tbosas didn’t really help in this matter either so here I am making up my own version 😄
I’ve been wondering what kind of woman could end up marrying Coriolanus and I’ve come to the conclusion that she would have to be as manipulative as he is, perhaps just with a tad more humanity than he has. Different from Lucy Grey in a sense that she would use Coriolanus’ actions and would plot to benefit herself even if she recognised and agreed that what he was doing was wrong. Their marriage would not be love or affection-based but more pragmatic while both still trying to manipulate the other into believing it IS love. And over the years perhaps it does become a twisted version of it. As much as they find the other distasteful, they cannot function without their toxic relationship in the eyes of the public or in the privacy of their home. For example, Coryo proposes saying “Snow lands on top” aka if we become a unit no one can stop us, but in the 2nd “Snow lands on top” after they have gotten to know each other and arealready married he reveals his cards - that even if she is a Snow in name, HE is still the one who lands on top.

Very clearly Snow never loved any other woman than Lucy (the author confirmed that he had fallen in love with her for those who would come to tell me that in fact he did not love her) and clearly, the book is very clear that he will never let himself be disturbed by these kinds of feelings again and that if he marries it will be purely for political/useful interest. I totally see a relationship based on the desire to have power for Snow as much as his wife. Very complex and twisted as I like. And I think like you say, she would probably have more humanity than him. It would be super interesting to know more about the construction of Snow's new family. I had also always wondered about it since he still seemed to have affection for his granddaughter.

Snow is a very interesting character, but sadly we know little about him in depth once his book ends. I always wanted to know how he remembered Lucy Gray years after what happened in the forest and if at some point in his adulthood he wondered what really happened to her that day or if he even wished at some point that his children were also hers (let's remember that, for a time, he wanted her with him in the capitol). As many older people begin to see more clearly their lives years ago, I wonder if Snow did too and reconsidered some of his decisions.
