Nestled in the Savoie region of France, the charming town of Beaufort serves as the gateway to an unforgettable cycling adventure - the ascent of Cormet de Roselend. From the moment you roll out of town, the Alps rise majestically before you, a silent challenge etched against the sky. The early kilometers ease you into the climb, allowing your legs to warm up. Lush green meadows give way to dense pine forests, the scent of resin hanging heavy in the crisp mountain air. As you gain elevation, the world below shrinks, Beaufort transforming into a miniature village cradled in the valley. Switchbacks snake across the mountainside, each bend revealing another layer of breathtaking scenery. The mighty peaks of the Beaufortain Massif dominate the horizon, a constant reminder of the grandeur that lies ahead. Then, a reward: the shimmering turquoise of Lac de Roselend emerges. Push onwards, fueled by the beauty that awaits. The final kilometers are a symphony of pain and elevation. With burning legs and a pounding heart, you reach the summit of Cormet de Roselend, standing nearly 2,000 meters above sea level.
In this ride-along video, you ride at the speed of an elite cyclist. If you want to ride at your own speed, please look below for how you can make that possible with our indoor cycling app Open Road.

Take your indoor cycling to the next level with our indoor cycling app Open Road:
Dive into an immersive indoor cycling experience with our training app ’Open Road’ for Windows. The app lets you ride the ride for real and provides a better and more realistic indoor cycling experience compared to our ride-along videos on RU-vid. The app is compatible with all ANT+ cycling devices, including smart trainers, power meters, and speed sensors. Athletes with spinning and exercise bikes without ANT+ compatibility can control the speed manually and enjoy riding with all the important cycling data displayed during the training session.

Just add music:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is outstanding. But with music, opinions are very mixed. So we recommend adding your favorite music to the ride. It is quite simple. Mute RU-vid and open a browser window. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, RU-vid, etc…) pick the music you like, and enjoy the ride... We have left the original sound of the ride out. This is because of the noise from passing cars, vibrations from the road, wind, and the rider's breathing drowns the natural sound of the surroundings.

Very nice! Thanks for suggesting my next endeavour! However I don't expect to be catching up with other cyclists (some even on e-bikes!) at that speed! I rarely managed 1,227m vertical in 1 hr, I'ld be glad if I could make it in 1h30'!! 😊

Well, to make the video more fun to watch, it is at the speed of an elite rider. But you can use our app Open Road and ride it at your own speed. Then you can see if you can make it in 1h:30' ;-)
