As someone who has never spent any time on a farm, I really appreciate the time you put into making this and explaining some of the reasons why certain things were done. This was incredibly interesting. Nicely done.
Eric, you do a fabulous job on voice-overs for the drone footage. Your usual explanations are so good that it's no surprise, but helping us understand what we're looking at makes it a lot of fun. The technical information you give us is presented so that it's really understandable. I gotta say it's sometimes a bit creepy how I'll think "why do they do that?" and you'll answer it fifteen seconds later. It's good to see that your Dad isn't cheating on his rotator cuff repairs - that's make for a more complete healing. Thanks again for bringing us into your lives.
We've been fortunate to just get fleeting glimpses of your two sisters. Last season's harvest and filling the bunk and in the silo, when your dad handed them both some rakes and said, "These are self explanatory" and they replied with smiles "Gee, Thanks Dad". Your sisters always seem so happy and cheerful to be helping out on the farm. Everybody wants to help, especially your recovering dad. The voice-over @ 8:48 was something different and informative.
Eric love the feeling of getting to know you more as a person. The way your personality is starting to come through this year has been the best part of watching the farm progress. Thank you for the honest hard work you and your family/friends do.
Eric i am amazed at the process for making silage as well as finishing the bunk. Also it is incredible to me how your harvesters can aim the shoot in order to get the silage into the trailers even when they are behind them or turning a corner. Thank you so much for show and explaining this. Glad to see your dad up and around and working with you in the tractor. Keep drinking your chocolate milk and Dew. I bought some Clover Farms chocolate milk recently. God Bless you and your entire family.
I know right, time passes by super fast, I still remember last years planting perfectly, I remember on the last field we planted, it didnt want to sprout and the rest of the fields were sprouting amazing
Best wishes to your dad for a speedy recovery with his shoulder - he is a great dad. Love the drone shots of the harvesting and your commentary is excellent, Eric. I enjoy your sense of humour too. Fantastic to see your beautiful daughter. 😃👍👍👍👍
Its so nice to see you’re sisters working together with you. There’s nothing more pleasant to watch then family working together as one. Kudos to both of you’re sisters Eric, and regards to dad.
I remember I started watching you when y'all were doing last year's harvest. You've come up real well, love watching your vids and learning more about farming. Thanks man.
Really enjoyed the drone footage! Your videos are looking very professional and informative. Thanks for bringing us along. Blessings to you and your family ❤️
Awesome video Eric! Great editing. Good to see wholesome family working together, including your beautiful baby daughter, and to see your Dad improving and able to play a part. God is good! Thanks for the lighthearted moments.
This year we did 4 ag bags 10 ft by 250 I really miss pushing corn silage with a blade one of my favorite jobs. Hope you have a great day thanks for sharing your Harvest with us.
Love all the drone footage and info! And, yeah, this is also a favorite of mine - watching all the people who come to help working together. PS: Your littlest helper is adorable - and has grown since last time we saw her!
All that in one day. Getting the harvesting guys in is pretty well the most efficient way to do it. I can't imagine you going back to anything else. It is nice to get everybody involved the way you do. All can have some sense of accomplishment on the farm work and it gets er done. Great video. Peace.
I really appreciate that you never use clickbait or annoying youtube-isms like "smash that subscribe button and ring the bell." Quality content doesn't need those gimmicks youtube always pushes people to say.
As of 6:02pm EST on September 17, 2020 who are the 56 people that disliked this video?? This is so awesome! I watched last years harvest video. Good wholesome entertainment for the family! You make great videos! Keep it up!
THANK YOU ERIC FOR SHOWING THAT VIDEO THAT WAS SOME INTERESTING STUFF I LIKE THE WAY YOU EXPLAINED IT SIMPLY A GREAT VIDEO NO DOUBT ABOUT IT👍🇺🇸 P. S . YOUR BABY LOOKS BEAUTIFUL IT'S NICE TO HAVE THE WHOLE FAMILY HELPING 👍☺️
Great video. Glad to see Eric getting back to adding his signature humor with the sodas and such in the videos (like he dad riding along to add some extra weight for packing). I've been looking forward to this video since I saw the picture Eric posted about what he did on Labor Day.
I think I should invent something that makes this plastic covering so much easier... I'm sorry but Eric's daughter steals the show every time... ha A blessed family!
Great Video. Production Quality -- A+ Sound -- A+ Content -- A+ You're getting good at it. Great work. Enjoy watching you progress as a videographer. Love seeing your Dad too. Hope he heals quickly. Keep it up young man.
Eric I live in a town in Massachusetts that has a large farm with milking cows for ice cream and milk products. By watching your videos I now know what is happening on a weekly basis with the farm. Thank you for all the great videos. Dennis
, I am a city girl moved into a more rural area and have to say watching these videos are amazing. I never realized how much work went into the dairy business. I am learning so much and am blown away. Thanks for making these.
It was so nice that you identified everyone who was helping. Gives your channel a more personal touch. Your little girl is so stinking cute! Looks like your dad is doing well..
It could be that big chunk of concrete hanging off the three point hitch weighs a little too much for the hydraulic hoses to handle after so many years in service.
@@bobjohnson1710 Its just the normal wear, last year was the same too. Those lifts are designed for 4.5 tons and that concrete block doesnt look as heavy. I may be wrong though.
Wow thanks for showing this video, since I live in the suburbs of Fort Wayne, Indiana and always live in the suburbs where. Since I never lived on or near a farm, I never knew what and how that Bunker Silo was for, that goes for a lot of your videos. People like myself that live in suburbs or cities don't know what it's like living and working on a farm. thanks to your RU-vid video's it helps a lot. The closest I get to farming is I have a raised bed - square foot garden that's 4' x 8'.
The view of the farm, countryside, and town is just awesome. Really enjoy the talking over onto the shots was well done, we did enjoy that portion. The music over the drone shots is very good too. You had "dad with you to supply a little bit more weight" was funny, so glad to see him with his boy. I miss my dad but so glad to see others enjoying their time together. Boy did you have me squirming in my chair when you got soooooo close to the edge while packing it down. 5,000 lb. weight? Holy mackerel that's a whole lot of dads compressing it down. 85 loads is a whole bunch of silage. Cute baby pictures!!!
Eric you and Saskdutchkid are my favorite dairymen, I love both your channels. Thank you for sharing your wonderful farm life! The drone footage and the music was awesome.
God bless our wonderful farmers!!! We grow sugar cane, corn, rice, leafy vegetables, sod here at the southern edge of Lake Okeechobee Florida. Glad you have a good crop!
Love your sense of humour, Eric. You provide a lot of laughs, good entertainment and educational videos to watch during these difficult times. Farmers are not appreciated enough by the average consumer. Thanks.
My favorite part is Eric's smart comment to his sisters after taking a break and drinking some chocolate milk "after our hard work". Clearly unimpressed Eric scoffs at the need for a break after "working for 15 minutes". And then he lights his friend up a little later. Eric, I think you have a future in "motivational speaking".
Man, I remember back in the day on the farm where I grew up when we started having mais. Chopping it with a thowed two row chopper. Things got so much easier when the local contractors started getting the claas jaguars.
I have never seen how this is done in real life. I played a game called Farming simulator 19 and I love to do this in the game. The game has maybe 10 percent of what you do in real life. In the part of the country I live in I have never seen this. We have cattle ranches here and mostly dry land farming. I have help brand a round cattle up on a small scale. I thought I was raised country I feel like a city boy now. It looks like hard work and I wish that I would have had a chance to do this. My health don't allow me to do anything now. You all are a great asset to the country. Thank you for all you do.
Fantastic video Eric. Like it very much when you add your own commentary to the drone footage. Loved seeing your little girl again. Great feeling with everyone helping on this project. Nice to learn more about you as a person and your family. One of your best videos ever. (Still waiting for the Q&A with your wife. That would be a fun video I'm sure).
I so enjoy watching your silage videos. Everyone working together to get it done and the fact that you all do such a neat job. Thanks for letting a former dairy farm boy live vicariously for a few minutes through you all!
Thanks for the details of how the storage system works and the labor and machines that make it possible. Farm family at work, didn't realize you had brothers and sisters. Details of the science that goes into the silage process was interesting.
