Tachi, My friend you always make me rethink my approach to problem solving…and force me to simplify my thinking…I now ask myself…not what Norm Abrams would do but what would Tachi do 🤔. Thank you again…be healthy and safe. Randy
Hello Randy Thank you for coming The basic maxim of Japanese carpenters is "Set-up 80%" ... The other two parts mean a simple task. I always keep that in mind when working, it's for safe and accurate work. Gratitude and friendship from Japan
Hello Richard Thank you for always being my follower And the wonderful positive comments saved me. One day I will find the perfect spring material. Thank you my friend Richard
Merci
Hello Friend Tachi, Your work was again a clean and useful work. It just felt like the nails would damage the furniture. Congratulations. Good work.👍🙏 Turkish friend Volkan🙋
Hello friend Volkan Thank you for coming to see me today Leaves a few scratches as you see, later you need to finish the surface smooth. Gratitude and friendship from Japan
Dear Sir As always these corner clamps are also a master piece.I think You won't waste even a small piece of wood. You can make something beautiful and valuable from scrap piece of wood even.
Hello friend sagguharjit Thank you for always following my video As you say, I pay homage to the soul of a small piece of wood and I will do my best to bring it back to life. Gratitude and friendship from Japan
Good morning Tachi san! I have light duty clamps made by slicing 3 and 4 inch pack into 1 inch pieces, then opening on the bandsaw. I can't even fathom why I never thought of these beautiful tools. You never cease to amaze me, Sir.
Hello Nik san Thank you for coming to see me today This little clamp of mine is a little powerless and is dedicated to making small boxes. I want to see your clamp, please send me a photo someday, for my inspiration ... Friendship from Japan
Hi This is again a very good idea, the original steel clamps are almost always sold out and cost money. For the umpteenth time, you have put your brain to work with this result. If you want more pressure, use stronger tubes. Congratulations. Thanks for sharing. Keep it safe, it is not over yet. Willy from Belgium. 😷😷😷
Hello Willy Thank you for your kind and lovely comments as usual This project isn't perfect, but my favorite clamp. Go looking for a powerful tube as you say. Gratitude and friendship from Japan
Hello friend John Thank you for always following my video And thank you for your polite and wonderful comments This cheap clamp is a little lacking in power! But OK for my use! Gratitude and friendship from Japan Tachi
Hello friend Mario Thank you for always following my video And thank you for your polite and kind comments Thank you very much for always watching over me Tachi
Those are very tidy little tools and I enjoyed seeing the production process. Very efficient. I imagine the plastic pipe is not very springy but this is a very good experiment. Thanks Tachi, that was a super video, I enjoyed it very much.
Hello friend Mark Thank you for always watching my video And thank you for your lovely comments Yes, I am now healed by your wonderful comments. Thanks and friendship from Japan to Mark Tachi
Outstanding my Friend! For small frames the tension should be fine for a long time. Just built a small walnut (6mm) box for some knives I built for my son and wish I would have had these during glue up. Thanks Always for your great designs, graciously built and filmed with care!!
Hello PJ Always welcome to my workshop This cheap clamp is a little lacking in power! But OK for my use! One day I will devise a metal ring type spring. This clamp is perfect for fixing the corners of a frame cut at 45 degrees as you say. I will upgrade this. Gratitude and friendship from Japan Tachi

Hi Tachi my friend... Good work! How is the tension? Does the PVC tubing give enough spring? What wood are you using? Have you considered making these as regular spring clamps as well?
Hello friend Rick Thank you for coming to my workshop today A little lack of power! But OK for my use! I don't know the details about this piece of wood, Apiton, Carophyllum, maybe! !! Next time I will consider a ring spring. Gratitude and peace from Japan Tachi
@@TachiOhyo56 more likely Apiton. It's a very available exotic hardwood throughout Asia. I've heard it go by the name of "Keruing" too. Used for flooring in RVs, trailer decks, etc. Thanks.
Hello Andy Always watch my video and thank you for your comment Nice comments you sometimes give me are my pleasure Gratitude and friendship from Japan Tachi
Hello friend H Wood Thank you for always watching my video And thank you for your comment Unfortunately, I didn't fully understand your comment! This clamp requires a pin at any jaw angle. Isn't this the answer to your question? If so, I'm sorry! Gratitude and peace from Japan Tachi
@@TachiOhyo56 I thought that if the jaw angle was 90 degrees, or slightly less, it would apply enough pressure on the corners so pins (and possible pin marks) would not be necessary. I am probably wrong!
@@hwood9783 Yes, now I understand your question. Yes, this clamp is for intentionally opening the mouth and hooking and fixing the corners with pins. As you can see, the chin is designed wide by default.
Hello E Caff Thank you for coming to my workshop again And thank you for your wonderful comments This clothespin is very convenient for making small boxes. Thank you E Caff
Hello friend José Thank you for always coming to my workshop And thank you for the nice comment It's not strong enough, but it's very convenient for making small boxes. Thank you José
