I corner load two HSU subs in opposite corners fills in the valleys, and eq the peaks, I get in flat in room response all the way down to 12HZ -2dB. Pretty sweet.
Hi Andrew, I love your videos. Thank you. I really enjoyed your setting up speakers and Spotify playlist to help. Great VPI deck as well. I put the Analogue Productions Cowboy Junkies Trinity Session on my want list. My question is I have a set of M100’s and I love them. I also have 2 EP350s Version 1’s. My old setup was 2 Restored and fully functioning vintage Mcintosh MC2205s set as Mono blocks running through a vintage unrestored Mcintosh C20 preamplifier. My turntable a VPI Classic 2 with a Zephyr MK1 cartridge. I have sold the Mcintosh amps want to buy a pair of Bryston 7Bsst’s or a 14Bsst. I have purchased aN Audio Research Reference 3 Preamp to start. Sorry for the long explanation I just wanted to give you a background. Will those old EP350s give me the slam I want or would I better be off with a newer pair of ep500s? I get decent bass now but I want that thump bass. I listen to a lot of 60’s and 70’s rock primarily vinyl. I know the room plays a big factor. The room is odd shaped primarily 13 feet wide by 16 feet. I would almost need to take a pic and show you. Any suggestions appreciated, Regards and thank you, Geoff
Hi Geoff, thank you for the compliments. A pair of the latest V4 EP500s would far surpass the performance of your original version EP350s. The amplifiers in the EP500 V4 also have a boost switch to provide some extra output in problematic rooms. I think your amplifier choices would all work very well with the M100s. You can always get in touch with us to discuss trade-in options. Cheers, Andrew
Should you actually point the front towards the corner, or have it still facing the listener but in the corner, seems like if i have the port facing the corner it almost works better
No, you should never point the woofer (if it’s on the front) into the corner, if should be facing the listener. A rear port will certainly be loaded by the corner and can help with output.
@@AxiomHomeTheaters thanks, i actually didnt point it straight towards the corner but i have it almost at a slant, it seems to fill the room with more bass if its pointing at a more enclosed area i guess? But its not that noticeable
@@marked4death076 Perfect, angled out from the corner should work well. All of this will depend on your taste and your room acoustics, so playing with the positioning is fine.
@@AxiomHomeTheaters i got dual SVS PB2000 Pro (Ported 12") that i've been struggling to get good bass out of. I found they sound best pointed toward the side wall basically into the back corner behind LP. Whether it's right or not idk.
