I grew up in late 70s and 80s in the heart of Hollywood ,Losangeles, San Fernando valley Santa Monica Sunset Blvd Melrose blvd Highland ave I grew up on Mccadden place and Fountain ave it was diverse for me Chips is one show I’d see on tv coming from school I liked it cause it was authentic stunts were crazy but there was no photo shop like they do today with some programs and films

It's not the s2-6 TV version but an extremely similar, extended rendition, using as I understand it, much of the same orchestra, and is the official release of the theme from the era. Considering some of the other official releases of TV themes, which are complete re-recordings and sound very little like their TV version ('The A-Team', 'Miami Vice', so many more), this is actually not far off from the TV version. It wasn't uncommon for 12" versions such as this to alter the tempo and to stick a load of filler in the middle.
