cornifer is a supporting character in the indie metroidvania game hollow knight, developed by team cherry. he is a cartographer who helps the player by selling maps of each area he is found in. cornifer is a very curious bug, to the point that he left his mother and siblings behind immediately after hatching to see the world. he married his wife iselda and immediately went deep into hallownest to create maps, leaving her to tend their shop by herself. when the player has collected all of cornifer's maps, he can be found back at their home in dirtmouth sleeping in a loft bed.
woodman is an enigmatic figure from the netflix series hilda, first seen delivering firewood to hilda's cabin. he seems to roam frequently from place to place, not having an established home until he takes over victoria van gale's abandoned weather station. despite his unassuming demeanor, woodman is a con man at heart, scamming people and pirate ghosts alike out of prized possessions. however, he is also an unexpected source of sage wisdom, and often points hilda in the right direction even if his advice can be rather cryptic.
