Set in San Diego, California, the series follows Dan Adams (Cameron), a former United States Navy intelligence officer turned private detective. The show's title was taken from the telephone exchange of Adams's office.
The Revue Productions series had 39 episodes that aired from September 6, 1960, and May 31, 1961.
Coronado 9 was produced by Richard Irving. Lawrence Kimble wrote scripts for it. It was sponsored in at least 70 markets by the Falstaff Brewing Company.

Rod Cameron was only 50 in 1960 but he looks quite bit older to me. He doesn't make a very compelling hero, but somehow the pilot sold. Probably based on Cameron's two previous 1950's series: City Detective (2 seasons) and State Trooper (3 seasons). Coronado 9 played in syndication for a year. It was never on a network. 39 episodes were made. The on-location filming in Coronado was impressive and ambitious. Most of these shows were studio bound. Part of the first season of Harry O (1974-76) with David Janssen was shot in San Diego, but soon moved to Los Angeles. Revue Studios (later Universal) made quite a few 30-minute detective shows around 1960 in addition to Coronado 9: M-Squad with Lee Marvin, Johnny Staccato with John Cassavetes, Mike Hammer with Darren McGavin, Markham with Ray Milland, Johnny Midnight with Edmond O'Brien, and Shotgun Slade with Scott Brady. Riichard Irving directed this episode. He also directed the first two Columbo TV movies and the pilot of The Six Million Dollar Man. I think Irving was Amy Irving's uncle. Joanne Linville played the lovely nut case. She was 32 at the time. She died in 2021, 61 years after doing this episode. Fine actress. She was married for quite a while to film director Mark Rydell (The Cowboys with John Wayne, The Reivers with Steve McQueen). Joanne guest starred on "The Third Man", "Twilight Zone", "The Fugitive", "Star Trek", "Columbo", "Hawaii 5-O", "Dynasty", and "L.A. Law." She became a highly regarded acting teacher. Thanks for posting this show

@@VintageFilmChannel I don't know about Mr. Bush, but if you could get episodes of "The Brothers Brannagan", also 1960-61, I would be thrilled whether colorized or not.

Nothing wrong with colorizing keep doing it The people that hate it only have to set the color saturation to zero level and you see B/W anyway
