Im watching these in 2024. They are so much better than the current show. Great storylines and real acting. They definitely don't make them like this anymore 🎉

The good old days of Coronation Street - the Rovers snug, Ena Sharples being accommodated by the ratepayers for doing nothing, Albert Tatlock mentioning that he fought in WW1, Len Fairclough acting the ladies man and Don Brennan masquerading as a scaffolder.

Actor George Waring as Cllr Tattersall, returned in 1980 to play Emily's bigamous husband Arnold Swain, and Geoff Hinsliff, one of the conmen who sweet talks Bet Lynch, reappeared 10 years later in 1986 as Ivy Tilsley's second husband Don Brennan. More Corrie recycling of actors!

George Waring, such a good actor to make his characters so believable. If he can make me want to give Tattersall a fat lip then job done.

Peter Armitage playing another character rather than Bill Webster. Not in the building but the decorating trade. Some comical scenes in these episodes especially with Stan and Eddie brewing their own beer and the bath. Also the gentleman who played Arnold Swain is in this playing a caretaker character who was also quite a devious fellow.
