I feel for her as shes trying to turn her life around and now its gone back to square one thanks to max. maybe shouldnt have lied on the application but why is anyone going to put that.
Unfortunately if this happened in a real school, the staff member would be suspended. Even if they weren't it would be impossible for them to keep a class disciplined. I have some possible happy endings for Nicky. 1 - Leanne (who has also been a sex worker) gives her a job. 2 Nicky leaves the show. About a year later a new character is introduced. She is Nicky with a new name and has had cosmetic surgery.
@@davidparry5310 Are you being dense on purpose? A school will not want the controversy and negative publicity of a sex worker (former or current) being a member of its staff working with children. Whatever your opinion is on sex workers, there is a lot of prejudice toward them.
@@danmiller898 I suppose what I meant is what negative consequences are there that are not the result of society's stupid stigmatisation of sex workers.
Irrelevant. You can be dismissed or suspended from employment if your actions (current or past) can damage the reputation of the company whether it is a criminal act or not. I'm not saying it's right though Nicky's past as a sex worker can be a big distraction for students, teachers and parents alike. What school would want to deal with that burden? If you want to play this stance that she'd done nothing wrong, her employment contract was grounded on her disclosure of past conduct that could be "unbecoming". She chose to withhold that past.
@@danmiller898 Sure. She shouldn't have lied, but you would have done the same in her place. This is why I am for a social credit system where if you do wrong you can do things to make right on your record. Employers need to understand that people make mistakes.
_"You would have done the same in her place."_ What a meaningless statement. Anybody would have because they are being imposed as Nicky in her circumstances. Whether one would have done the same or not doesn't change the fact Nicky had made a false declaration in applying for her TA role and thus raised questions about what else she may or may not have failed to disclose. An employee who can't be trusted is called a liability. Her position was untenable because of the distraction her past as a sex worker is causing. Employers do understand that people make mistakes but if you drop the Don Quixote ideals, you will understand that not all mistakes are made equally nor do those mistakes have equal consequences. With children (one demographic of vulnerable people) in the care of its employees, an educational institute doesn't have the luxury of its reputation being damaged by innuendo and rumour surrounding the past of its staff.
@@johntrevy1 Like I say, you appear to show Don Quixote ideals. Not everybody will share your pseudo-moralistic stances on making mistakes so your proposition sounds like a pipe dream.
Like David said it's no ones business everyone has had sex that's a adult. Otherwise there wouldn't be pregnant women so why make a big deal if she was a sex worker as long as she isn't doing it with the students what's the problem
Poor Nicky. I do feel for her. She was trying to turn her life around by applying for a normal career job as a school teacher . Then vile Max somehow finds out about her past life as a escort & posts her old pics of her old life online - making the whole school know about this! Really hate Max now. He seems to enjoy tormenting his teachers: Daniel & now Nicky. Corrie producers/writers please get rid of Max now!
Whatever Nicky did, that was in the past. She shouldn’t be defined that way. She deserves a second chance. This storyline is great because it shows how cruel society can be.

Those in the sex industry made that choice and will have to suffer for their decision. Thats why today many in the industry have other identitys and call themselves content creators but ita the same thing thats become more accepted.
I mean saying that they made their choice is a bit of a crock given that most are usually girls who’ve either grown up in abusive households, been sexually abused by their guardians and or are people who left home on their own and don’t have money, opportunity, education and or basic options but to go to sex trade to find work on the street etc. And one of the reasons many have other identities is to avoid being stalked, and or hunted by sickos, predators and or obsessive punters as well as keeping a private life etc.
