You wouldn’t think this was 30 years ago gosh it’s gone so fast,I remember these episodes it only feels like yesterday, thank you for sharing yet another great video!
1:55:57 This is the first time in the older episodes that I have seen hints of Sally’s quest for power and prestige. She has been so power-hungry in the last 10 years, always wanting to be posh, but I hadn’t seen it in these older episodes until now. It is neat to see her evolution. Thanks, again, for the great episodes!
Only the last 10 years!? I haven't watched the pile of steaming woke 💩 in at least 10 years and she was like that since at least the early 00's so she's been a deluded snobby hypocrite for at least 20 odd years.
I guess you didn't see Sally when she and Kevin were lodging with Hilda . She got it into her head that Kevin should buy into partnership with Brian. The fact that they only had 40 quid, in the bank, didn't stop her from grilling Kevin everytime he walked in the door, as to the progress he had made, buying into Brian's garage, with 40 quid.
That's why it makes me I'll when I see them so happy, trying to decide what they're going to name the garage. Because, in 2 seconds they could go from being happy, to being at each other's throats, at the first sign of bother.
Don had the patience of a saint! Ivy got what she throughly deserved.. unreasonable doesn’t even cut with her! Impossible to live with. Acting on point.
Having worked cruise ships for many years, the entertainment is considered staff and they are free to mingle with the guests. The MC's have a whale of a time, having affairs with passengers most of the time. The waiters etc are crew, they can't mingle, they stay below deck. MC's always have their own cabins as they are considered management.
After 2 hours there’s some very different camera work, with sweeping shots and zooming in close ups. It’s a real change. The writing has changed a bit too it seems.
Too true. I used to think Kevin and Sally were a nice couple but there were certainly times when they were thankless brats. Looking back now, they were not half as nice as I thought.
A scene about female empowerment followed by a scene with Alma going doe eyed on Mike, who’s treated her like shite. I really wish they hadn’t made Alma look so desperate and weak about Mike.
I truly felt for Ivy 😢😢 she is a hard old bat and set in her ways second to none .. but she didn't deserve what Don did to her by no means ...you don't just walk away when a few months of bother arise .... she was the one always bailing him out of his gambling debts .. may not match up to her constant meddling and misery but still didn't deserve the slap in face !!! I liked Don thought he was a stand up bloke but bit dissapointed at how he turned !😮😮
Apparently they didn’t get on in real life - Geoff Hinsliff was always asking the writers for Don to have an affair as he felt Ivy was too old for Don.. lol!
Alma no better than the munchkin playing games. If someone kept bothering me like that and I really didn’t want anything to do with them, I’d tell him we’re to go instead of constantly whinging about it.
That baby rose in real life would be a screamer because of her parents being wound up. And ivy im surprised even tempered Bert didn’t kill get in her sleep.
I don't know in what world those houses would be on the market for around £40 grand in 1991 given the area and the fact all the characters say there's nothing around for miles?
@@bsaunders5271I know all that. But your suggestion the woman gets the sack does seem a bit harsh. It was two people in their twenties doing what comes natural. Maybe im simply not in the "tut-tut" brigade like so many people are these days.
@@TheGlassman63 I'm not being personally moralistic about it, it just seems odd and unrealistic when her profession would most definitely have frowned upon a fraternisation of that kind. Plus, God knows what she saw in Des, he's awful.
@@bsaunders5271 Yes i would doubt things like that would happen in the real world away from C-Street, although i guess it could happen occasionally. I think it would have been worse if say they had a 20 year age gap between them, but as both were the same age, to me it didn't look to bad.
She certainly did have a drinking problem, watch the documentary about her on RU-vid if you’re interested - I’m currently watching January ‘94 which is nearly the point she gets those ridiculous lips done.. but you can tell her performance is being impaired by the booze sadly! A real shame.
