I like how Peter goes from grovelling and begging Jim to standing up to him. Jim is a big fish in a small pond, enjoying his status as "the landlord" but when Peter isn't shaking and sweating and needing drink, and he's healthy and confident again, he knows that he doesn't have to see Jim as a big man
If you actually think about it Jim wasn't bad guy here, he tried to get Peter get out of prison and not feel guilty. Which Peter felt about himself going in prison in first place.
I always felt the most unrealistic part of this was the fact that Jim had two hired thugs who beat Peter up, there’s no way Jim would ever have used someone else to do his dirty work for him like that
I rarely follow coronation street but its cool to have edited vids like these on youtube to see how old characters are coming along lol. ITV3 are showing episodes from 1996 now.
Maybe it wasn't the right way to do it but Jim actually helped Peter get off the booze termporarily and he saved Peter's life plus he tried to help him get out of prison.
I tell you what Jim gets his moneys worth out of his clothes. He's had that blue shirt for years and whenever he comes out of the big hoose you can bet he's wearing the same trusty leather jacket he's had for 30 years.
I don’t know what to make of this feud. On one hand Jim is the reason peter got out of prison because he told him to plead not guilty, but on the other he played him the entire time, and turned him back into an alcoholic.
I wonder who would win in a fight. Peter’s not weak he’s fairly tough. In one scene he looked like he was to fight Jim, he pushed Jim away fairly easily
When the McDonalds first arrived it was clear that Jim, whilst having a short-fuse, was a family man with values. The writing got ridiculous. Fast forward to then and Jim’s a godfather inside.
Can’t see how Peter can be mad at Jim... constantly begged for drinks, baited him out, offered nothing in return, stole off him, then gives him the lip like he’s in the wrong
Redfield 100% instead of having half brained ideas of robbing banks and plans of swindling Liz of her life savings, Jim could pitch Chateau de Big House to the dragons for 10% of the business. He could be the next Levi Roots 🤣
Oh god, this was about the time soaps were forced to tone down the violence. So we're basically reduced to tell dont show. It's a soap, it's television theatre, we know it's not real. Constant monologuing and hollow threats make soaps boring as fuck, and yet somehow more depressing than they were fifteen years ago.
@@annalisedoyle2064 a few years ago steve got involved with thug jez quigley he beat steve up badly jim beat jez up in revenge and he died jim went to prison for murder
