I always appreciate your honesty and straight forwardness. I frequently see you making, doing, crafting new ways of bush crafting which makes it more fun, cool, sweet and enjoyable to us to learn from you. Your items and damn good methodology techniques of achieving your goals are stellar. You even barrow ideas and often improving them with putting your twist on things while you give graciously credit to the original individuals that share their idea with you. That shows your humble honest and kindness personality. I hate what youtube has done to you and others. All the Very Best! Jim Rodgers

I use 190-proof Everclear in my alcohol stoves. Expensive, yes, but also medicinal and if it ever does leak on my stuff it just evaporates away and doesn't leave a mess. It also doesn't dump a lot of soot on my pots and cups.

Yeah, don't sleep on hand sanitizer as a fire starter generally. It's a good thing to keep around, and one definite advantage it has is that if it's a little windy or wet, you'll have much better luck getting tinder lit with that than otherwise because it gives you a little bit if an edge. Additionally, the alcohol options are a bit more clean burning than chemicals and plastic. Another thing that might be worth trying is alcohol prep pads. They are the same level of alcohol needed for disinfection as hand sanitizer and rubbing alcohol. They are great to have around to disinfect phones and small surfaces, but it's a ready-made saturated pad to take and hold a spark.

I have used a diy house heater for power outages. New paint with lid, cheap toilet paper and use isopropyl alcohol 70%. Remove paper tube from inside toilet paper. Put toilet paper in paint can. Full can to cover the toilet paper. You can use 2-3 rolls to have fire last longer. Light alcohol. Keep paint lid nearby to extinguish the fire. Can and lids will be hot. 🔥🔥

For when our matches were wet, or if it was too windy to use them. We also learned the "roll up strips of newspaper and dip them in candle wax", to have waterproofed tinder in our kits.
