Wow. This is what many content creators don't tell us. I always believed that I can suceed at a young age, despite not having much experience in the world. I am still very naive and know almost nothing about the working world. Do i even want to start a business? I was told it's really hard to be successful, and the statistics show it's true. As you've said, I followed many really successful people like James Dyson, Greg glassman, Jackie Chan, and many more, but am I willing to go through the pain they went through? They were lucky too. Thanks for sharing. What about the those who failed? There are way more but we don't see them much.
Wise words, I think the large underpinning here is a strong need to be able to generate and manage a range of resources, in addition to running the business in a legally compliant and sustainable / expansive way. Grateful for your insight, good to hear your dual perspective on this. Also gives me hope within my corporate career - ie skills pay bills, keep learning, growing and eventually take the plunge and break out when mature enough to withstand.
Hi Deniz, this video speaks out to me a lot. The issue we have is , since childhood, we have always been thought to look up, expect a tap on our back, listen to our teachers, family and this continues into the career working life. We have rarely been taught how to build a business not only by studying but also in terms of behavior, we are rarely shown or experienced what it involves, what it requires. Thus the failure rate is much higher and in parallel to that, the pressures of family commitments or by your own family to prove yourself does not create the correct environment for one person to succeed with a higher rate. You are always short of time to succeed, judged and criticized. For me, having your own successful business is no match with most of the careers out there. I'd recommend anyone to follow that path till the rest of their lives until they manage to stand up on their own. And do not try to do both at the same time cause you will burn out like how i did and in the end you will start judging everything about life.

Hey everyone, do you think the safe route Deniz suggests in this video also applies to someone in the tech industry, perhaps a software engineer, where nowadays the risk of a startup can be greatly reduced by low financial investment by developing the product with your own skills and co-founders putting in sweat equity? The skillset required to be a successful entrepreneur is quite different than to be a successful career professional, so I think this type of person would benefit from spending slightly lesser time (maybe only 5-10 years) in the corporate world before going off on their own, what do you think? Also, I'm pondering over the fact that if it is possible to start off part-time as an entrepreneur while climbing the corporate ladder and then leave your corporate job only when you see traction to further minimise the risk?

As you might or might not know as a young man who is in their 20s there are not many oppurtunuties that you can just jump into a big multicultural corporate in my country. So there is only a valid option which is working in a SME's. As an inexperienced and havent proved anything what mindset and things should I develop or look for as an export specialist? @Deniz Sasal I wish you could advise me on better learning skills. I'm suffering with studying the PMP yet I'm relatively smart, high IQ, and I understand thoroughly and swiftly yet studying and remembering what I learned is a huge challenge. I am an active project manager working full time. I wonder if you have any program to follow for this sake, anyway I'll not type a lot.. I'll do whatever it takes to follow your directions. Cheers,
Dear Deniz, I think you were prepared to switch from the corporate world to entrepreneurship because of your expertise in management consulting. In my case I'm in engineering consulting (i.e. engineering slavery) and wouldn't feel confident in becoming an entrepreneur, I may become instead a freelance. Is it possible to start a firm only studying on the books?

Hi Gazala, I am afraid I can't give you one line answer here. Choosing a business line for your entrepreneurial activities is very complex. There are 100s of things to consider, resources, positioning, your differentiators, expertise, infrastructure, competitors, future potential of the product/service, etc.
