- Silent R is used at the end of the word and before a consonant. -The Real German R is used when it is before a vowel or an umlet. Its also used in the start of a word. It isn't used in the end of the word.
Whenever i try to pronounce a word that starts with R, it usually sounds like I'm starting the word with H mixed with a little bit of 'ch' of german. How can i help with that?
Have you tried doing the water exercise? The real German 'R' is pronounced right at the back of your throat. It takes a bit of practice but I’m sure you’ll get there :)
