Nice and informative video but may I suggest the part where you pry open the back cover, it is better to use plastic pry tool and never use any metal thing like the screw driver because it may leave a dent on the plastic body
To anyone in the future: It helps a lot it you straighten the TouchPad orange line wire thingy. I take it by now its curved. Just bend it the opposite direction for it to somewhat straighten for easier access to put it that lock area.
It was just a tutorial on how to remove it. I didn’t remove it for any other purpose. You’d have to remove the rear touch pad to get to any other parts inside of the vita anyway, so it’s a necessary step in any repair
Okay so my little tab is broken. The one that you lift up and down to put the ribbon back. Is that bad? the cables still goes inside just fine and it’s snug. But touchpad doesn’t work.
@@alexjacksonjr35 maybe putting some electrical tape there might give enough pressure for it to be recognized. Otherwise you’d have to replace the port, which is rather difficult
A shell basically only consists of the front screen assembly, top trim, and the rear touchpad. So you could just replace the screen assembly and keep your original touchpad. You could also remove your touchpad pcb and set it in the new touchpad rear
