Is the navicirc compatible with the REP199ip? My Ferguson supplier got the Navicirv instead of the grundfos bypsss. There is no independent circ. Line so got the rinnai with it built in. I know how to do the parameters and All that i just wasn't sure if this navicirc was compatible with the Rennai

How does the recirculation through the cold water supply work if there's a pressurized service in the same line?

Navien tells me homeowner install voids warranty, but plumbing supply place says they won’t ask for receipt for warranty repairs. If true seems like good way to limit market share.

It the internal thermistor that's dirty or needs to be changed. It the unit was never serviced there could be a lot or other problems that could pop up. I would consider putting a new unit in. Mike

Its a bit off topic but I stumbled on some Rinnai roof shingles while looking for tankless water heaters on Lowes. Now I have watched a lot of your videos on venting but I haven't seen the shingles mentioned. The Lowes description just says for use with Rinnai tankless water heaters but doesn't mention which models (condensing or non condensing) or what size of piping. A short video on what they are for and when to use them would be helpful. Im set on the v75 since I don't plan on using the extra features of the RL75. Thank you for your videos, they have been extremely helpful.

I recently installed a Navien model 210S2 which doesn't have the internal circulation pump. It takes 45-50 seconds for the hot water to get to sinks and showers, even though I already installed an external Watts pump (3.11 GPM) with a universal circulation T-valve (not a Navi circ) under the kitchen sink. Do I need to install these universal T-valves under every sink to help with hot water gets faster? Please reply with your recommendations.

Love your presentations, I live in Sarasota. On a Rinnai tankless water heater, can you use 2 Navien bypass valves under the coldest faucets with a Grundfos UPS 15-55 SUC/TLC pump and a Taco SmartPlug to manage hot water flow?

You emphasized in this video at time mark 2:30 that the valve HAS to be mounted vertically and flat against the back wall of the cabinet. My HVAC guy installed them not flat and not against the back wall. They kind of "hang" in mid air connected to the 4 water inlets and outlets. Could this mounting method result in the valve malfunctioning in any fashion whatsoever?

I’ve had absolutely no issues with any of the Navien products. The new series unites are in my opinion the best on the market. I know there are a few channels that bash this product and I can’t get into the reason, but I tore through both series of there unites for over a month before I switched to the and there made quite well. If you spray Big Blu at the seam where the heat exchanger is screwed together exhaust gas leaks right out into the cabinet. It discolors the board and dissolves the black plastic parts turning it into an oily goo. Mikey Pipes went to a Ferguson dealer at the dealer not leaving the parking lot took a brand new one right out of the box plugged it and sprayed soapy water and the heat exchanger leaked. I am thinking you never soapy watered them so you haven't seen this yet. When the cabinet is put on they claim the exhaust gas doesn't leak out but it's sucking it's own exhaust back into the fresh air supply. Mike you are a good guy and I learned a ton from you about Rinnai. If you install these you are doing people a disservice. Please start spraying heat exchangers at the seam and you will see. The screws on the top of the exchanger are also loose out of the box on many and they loosen up over time. When they loosen it destroys the gasket. If you see the boards with a red color that means the exhaust leaked into it. Mikey probably made close to 50 videos about this and tried to work with Navien. They first denied it than told him testing with soapy water isn't a proper way to check for leaks. You know as a plumber that's BS. Then they claimed the leaking exhaust gases weren't harmful because it's a sealed unit. What do you think will happen to a machine if it keeps sucking in exhaust gas? These were being replaced 5-7 years and some less. They finally unleashed their legal team on him to stop making videos.

Have you had any complaints of the NaviCirc valve periodically emitting an unusually loud 'whoop' sound? It only seems to happen when the valve closes right as the hot water recirculation cycle ends. Our plumber has replaced ours three times but it has not fixed the problem. It still makes the sound... not every time but most the time. It is quite loud and very noticeable at the kitchen sink (where it is installed as you show in your video), but also in each of the two bathrooms, as if the sound is transferring through the pipes. Have you ever heard this?
@sjpdavis
@sjpdavis Год назад
We had an A2 installed this past August ('22) with a NaviCirc value in our master bath. Works flawless and w/o any sounds you mentioned. However, my installer did include a ball value just below the recirc line on the unit. He said leaving this value handle open at a 45 degree angle keeps the sound from occurring.
@rhfink
@rhfink Год назад
@@sjpdavis Our installer today came by and replaced the NaviCirc valve with a Grundfos valve, one that seems to be very similar in function to the NaviCirc but without the temperature sensitive closure feature. It just has a check valve that closes based on the main unit stopping the hot water flow. It looks like the size is smaller and therefore takes longer to replace the hot water line (which ironically might be what that valve handle at 45 degrees is doing in your system) but it also seems to have completely stopped the 'whoop' sound. I understand the sound is caused by the closing of the valve based on the one board temp switch closing the valve. In any case, I think we finally have a solution to the annoying sound issue. Time will tell, but so far it has been blissfully quiet.
@vitallycheck
@vitallycheck Год назад
@@rhfink Hi, Can you provide a quick update on your system?! Also you mentioned you have had multiple NaviCirc valves installed? Are all of them working properly all together with the water heater, basically you have an instant hot water almost in every faucet or shower head correct ?
@rhfink
@rhfink Год назад
@@vitallycheck Actually, I have always had just one NaviCirc valve in the system, but it was replaced about four times over the last year trying to stop that squeak sound that occurred each time the valve closed. The last time he came by the plumber replaced the NaviCirc with the Grundfos valve and we have not had a single 'whoop' sound since. So that is the good thing. It might be due to smaller diameter of the Gurndfos compared to the NaviCirc (not positive about that one) but in any case, the change has done the trick. The other thing about our installation is that I believe we have an unfortunate T split in our water lines where the water used to come to the hot water tank in an interior closet near the center of the house. From there half went to the kitchen on one side of the house and the other half went to the bathrooms located on both levels on the other half of the house. So putting one valve in at one location may not be as effective compared to having one continuous long loop that ends somewhere at one point (e.g. the kitchen sink.) The bottom line now is that the kitchen sink can take a long time to get really hot water on demand if someone else has used the bathroom sink just before. So that's about the extent of it. The sound is gone, but the system is a hybrid between two manufacturers (Navien and Grundfos.)
