Thanks for the updates! That water sensor for the Simplisafe may be the best part of this video for me. I've had a similar issue..... a pinhole leak in my kitchen sink that ruined a section of my basement ceiling. The alerts and phone call may have just sold me!

I'd be happy just with water sensors for all of those under sink, water heater, washing machine type areas etc.... This video was perfect timing!! Hi Tim, You are #1 for the most honest, detailed reviews, and practical uses of equipment for the small guy/gal that may be interested in purchasing various yard equipment. Your channel was my source when making my decision to purchase my 1025r vs the comparable Kubota when I retired in 2019. If the new Stihl Zero Turn is anything like the Ferris, it should be a good one. We used the Ferris mowers in the school district were I was Supervisor over the Maintenance and Grounds. They preformed very well. Thanks to you and your family for your hard work and entertaining videos!!!

As always great video Tim. Really love seeing the latest greats stuff from the trade shows. I did the 2023 Fender mod on my 2025R. I want to say not all 2022s have that fender top revision, like it was late year change or something? Your video showing it on a 2023 was the first I had ever seen it on 1025/2025R tractor. I originally ordered both the new top panel with those knockouts and the green Fender. The green fender part number was a new number, but it turned out it was identical to my 2020 fender, so I returned the fender. With only having to buy the top panel it takes the cost down to around 40-50 bucks. I now have my TTWT / Summit hydraulics kit control switches and my TKV20 dump switch all mounted nice and cleanly in that new fender top. One of my favorite cheap mods that I have done to my 2025R.

In the pictures of the 120e loader there is something in the loader support tube behind the bucket. Any idea what that is?

I think it is the bracket that must be attached to hold the loader up when detached. Just guessing.

A couple things on the new 120R, first the hard lines look rather vulnerable to damage and look like a afterthought coming out of the floor pan like that. Second, I'd rather still have connectors here for connecting things to the rear and/or front of the machine off the loader SCV. I'm still not sold on the single point connector also. I've heard of leaking problems (probably due to dirt/debris) and a very expensive repair bill VS a few standard pioneer coupings that you can get anywhere. Convenience comes at a cost I suppose.

I was torn about putting the single point connector on my 1025r, but didnt want to mow with the bucket attatched so I bit the bullet. Have to say its the best money ive ever spent. once you get used to it I can take my bucket off without leaving the seat in about 10-15 seconds. i will say as you stated I'm not sold on the hard lines going from the bottom of the footrest to the connector.

Switch panel showed up the last two months or so of 22 production. Just upgraded my earlier 22 to the switch panel . Original fender will require quite a bit of butchering. New fender cost was reasonable and only made sense to swap that as well

55°, that is steep! 45 is considered 100% 1 up/down to 1 across. That could never be accomplished with a rider over the cutting deck. You didn't mention price, but I think it might be cheaper to have a goat and sheep team to keep such slopes trimmed.😉

I think it is silly for Stihl to enter the zero turn market with what is essentially a Ferris zero turn. I think of them for chainsaws first; so to me a logical step would of been a small but effective wood chipper. I have never been a fan of Dixie Chopper but that hybrid gas over electric is a smart way to do things in this case! I believe big change in the way we mow lawns is on the way. In the not so distant future lawns will be mowed by robot, not RC or in person. This Dixie Chopper could easily be changed to robot control; so I feel it is well placed in the market. Robotic lawn mowing will not get rid of our John Deere Tractors because as home owners we do to many odd jobs that a robot would not be able to figure out at this time. However we will spend a LOT less time mowing with them!

I think Stihl is doing it smart by using Ferris and Simplicity as partners. That way it reduces their risk. Ferris is known for outstanding ride due to their advanced suspension system and Simplicity will get the consumer market area. It will be interesting to see how they do. Very ingenious on Dixie chopper by combining gas with electric. I still think we are 10 years away from efficient battery powered outdoor equipment and where we get the raw materials is risky at this time. Apologies to A Ritter Bit Will Do on my take on batteries. Lol

That RC-Lawnmower is pretty neat. As for Stihl making zero-turns now, I'm more surprised that they didn't make lawnmowers sooner. They've been making equipment that is used by loggers, landscapers and home owners forever.

Stihl has been in the lawnmower business since the 80's,but generally only in Europe so it's not really a surprise to see the zero turns. As purely a guess, they might be using the rebranded Ferris's to test the waters in the North American market before sinking millions into R&D on a original Stihl model.

When I heard about the Stihl mowers and saw they were Ferris designs/built I was troubled as well. I am sure since they are Orange Stihl will think they are worth more.. Guessing that their angle is since a lot of landscapers use their hand-held equipment it made sense for them to offer mowers as well... There is a lot to discuss with that point, more than I think a comment should hold ;)

The 120e loader is interesting. I recall a similar type solution with the d120 loader. I suppose the non quick detach loader variant would appeal to a 1 series without a mid mount mower. Also, what was the 23.5 hp sticker on the loader in reference to?

Yeah, we sort of make/made a ZTR, but we sort of gave up on them because it's such a competitive, crowded, and low margin market that's full of smaller companies with less overhead, that it's not really worth it on consumer and lower end commercial machines. Of course, our very large machines are zero turn, but they are in a whole other price point.

Insurance for damage on the equipment itself itself is optional. If you can afford to replace/fix, I wouldn’t worry about it. The larger issue is liability. What if you accidentally run over a child? What if you run though someone’s house wall? What if you have a heart attack and run the tractor out into the street hitting a car. I know, crazy stuff, but the liability issues could destroy your retirement funds.

I think there is going to be too much competition in the zero turn market. Thinking Stihl should stay in their lane. Rather seem them go into log splitters for instance. So says the guy who is usually wrong. ;)

If you do some digging, you'll find out that the majority of separate mower brands are all made by MTD, with some minor tweaks here and there, like body panels and mower deck shape. I was kind shocked when I found out.

Did you have rear ballast on the 3 point hitch? Any attachment on the 3 point? Wheel weights? Fluid in the tires? Loader on? Any load in the bucket?

hey Tim the Stihl zero turn is a ferris with different paint made by Briggs and Stratton in the town of Sheryl ny about 3 hrs away from were I live in buffalo ny they also make ferris snapper pro simplicity mtd Murray etc witch Briggs filed for bankruptcy and Stanley black and decker owns them know as well as well industries witch is huster and they just dropped there big dog line same as hustler red instead of yellow they also own snapper plus many others it's real damn screwed up that they own all the brands it pays to research before you buy I just bought a 2014 bad boy zt elite 54 Kawasaki fr730 that will be getting three stage canister air filter as well as reaper tires assist handle and sun shade receiver hitches front and rear cargo racks trimmer rack and tops as well as a full suspension seat she was a 1 owner mower 600 hrs on her babied got it from dealer for 3500.00 new version with rubber frame inserts in front is now 6500.00 as now they just did a 20th anniversary zt elite limited for same price it's on RU-vid check out the bad boy mowers website these are built like brick outhouses

another great array of zero turns are grasshopper stupid expensive but worth it if you can afford it country clipper world lawn encore bobcat walker scag toro the list is endless make you get a fab deck serviceable hydro and suspension also suspension seat engine wise Briggs vanguard Kawasaki Honda gxv Yamaha general as well cat or Perkins diesel don't get it with any Kohler's
