It blows my mind all the different types of styles and variations you can create with perms. You're so talented. Can't wait to book an appointment with you next time I'm in Chicago visiting family.
What's wrong with being an IT specialist or computer nerd? Society needs us too. Do we deserve to be treated like dogs by women and men of society because we don't look like person #2?
Subscribed! my hair has always been so stubborn just like that and I hated so much. Thank you for sharing this solution! will give it a try in the future.
What is the down perm brand you use? I'm in San Diego but there's not a barber/hair stylist knowledgeable to do a Korean down perm so I been doing it myself with Dashu but man that stinks lol
Are u using an Asian cream ammonium thioglycolate or an old school sodium hydroxide relaxer? I’ve had success w both, BUT I have to work very quick w a relaxer. I leave it on for max 6-9 min depending on how thick the actual strand is, then neutralize immediately. It softens the hair so well w/o feeling crunchy. I DON’T like any of the ‘no lye relaxers’ bc they tend to leave salt deposits and the hair feels rough AF. I can use American perm solution, but it’s too liquid for when I’m trying to do perms by just combing the hair into place.
I’m a white British guy, and I keep getting told by barbers that I have “Asian guys” hair, and my hair does this it’s bushy and sticks out on the sides too, it’s really flat when long, and my girlfriend who is Korean keeps telling me to get a Korean perm? What should I do?
Neither, I have naturally curly hair but also I’m a barber. Go pick you up coconuts & hibiscus curl enhancing smoothie. And rub it throroughly thru your hair n scalp and it stimulates your curls. And they also have it in shampoo and conditioner which I use. Some people like Cantù butter. But if you have straight hair and go get a perm I don’t recommend gel or pomade because then your forcibly keeping your hair a certain way which could lead to your curls/hair starting to look uneven, or curls start getting straight bc it’s not being properly taken care of etc etc…. But either Cantù butter or coconut n hibiscus smoothie w/silk protein n neem oil mix . Which I’ve always stayed with. But some people prefer Cantù, it’s all up to you. Just don’t put gel pls lol
Is there a way to achieve this without using a perm? I have roughly the same hairstyle but a little shorter on the front. It definitely falls out of place after drying even with products. I use a pomade, Sauvacito.
