Mewier just try to touch your nose with your tounge 15 times or kissing the air with your head up 15 times everyday after you do this and your chin will be okay😉
I have seen tons of posture correction videos and your video has the simplest and most effective way of correcting forward head problem. So simple and yet so effective.
try this with arm movement exercises while in posture, slowly raising arms at your sides, and then raising a hand as high as you can while your other is on your chest/alternating. You will feel it! This posture exercise you show is great and I'm going to implement it into my routine, normally would do the same but without leaning off the wall, and then do my arm movements. I find the movements add another depth into the muscle coordination and posture repair.
tried this for 6 weeks. 1 week i noticed my neck muscles and shoulder were a lot of more "stronger". now vritually zero posture issues. Of course you have to notice to fix your posture so when you notice yourself hunching, straighten your posture and keep doing this exercises. You were hunching for many years to it takes time to strenghten the muscles
After just 3(!!!) days, I got better neck mobility (previously I was not able to turn my head to the right fully). So easy to do, the best exercise! Totally recommend.
I remeber that i started with 5min for the first few days and increase 1min on the next day until i achieve 15min a day. I also use some strengh to my abs to ensure my body below the neck stay as straight as possible
@@grivhuey bro my neck make the letter 3, I have a bed and It's impossible to sit properly when you have a sister in your constantly watching you if your sharing a room.
Thank-you doctor Bradley. I've just tried this exercise, being careful to follow it just as instructed, and I could definitely feel all the muscles you described respond. Not sure why the PT's I've seen haven't recommended this yet but its better than everything else I've been shown.
Holy smokes...3 months of clogged sinuses just disappeared after doing this for 2 days. As soon as I came off the wall the 4th time, incredible drainage right down the back of my throat (gross) . I can nose breathe again! Thank you! Hard to believe all of the complications that can arise from poor posture, go to regular doctor and they'll just give you drugs which do nothing. This younger generation are in for it as they get older, staring down at their phones all day long since they're teens, good thing they'll have your video.
Practice having the correct tongue posture (called mewing, by Dr john and his son Mike Mew). It'll make you breath better and have an incredible jaw. They also talk about bad neck and back posture, and if you have bad neck and head posture then you probably also have bad resting tongue posture. I'm doing it and already have good results.
It most likely opened up clogged eustachian tubes due to bad posture in the areas of the side of the neck he was referring to in the beginning of the video
This is the simplest technique that you can do almost anywhere, anytime. On the subway, on the bus, at the mall, standing in line, even while you're on the phone. Well, where ever there's a wall or some nice person willing to let you lean on them. Show them the video then lean on each other LOL. Easy to stand up and lean on the wall instead of slouching into an ugly hunch back! Great info and demo.
Man I have this so bad. It makes my upper back sore when I wake up and my neck get tired and sore throughout the day. I really want to fix my posture. I quit drinking 4 months ago, quitting caffeine now, working on quitting smoking next. After that I wanna get in all around better shape. Posture is a big step because I think it'll overall help me feel better, less sore and more confident. I wish I could come see you at your practice.
I am astonished. Maybe this is not the case with everyone, but after I did the excercise I felt an immediate change when I walked away from the wall. It's like my head was pulled back automatically. Of course, the effect was only temporary, but along with the right streching excercieses, I'm sure it will help in the long run.
@@hrishabhpandey3248 My posture is quite straight now. But I do a regular workout as well, where I try to emphasize on back muscles, plus I do a few more stretching excercises.
Thank you so much for this video. I've practised this exercise three times and saw & felt a big difference. This only after some minutes. You are just great Sir 👌
But what to do?? Like just stand near the wall then step forward and let the head and shoulders be touched to the wall??? Is that the exercise to do daily???
I tried this and I'm going to stick with it and see if I have improvements. I'm 44 y/o female and work a desk job. When I do this exercise I feel a lot of tingling in my fingers and my right arm especially feels a strong pulling on it. I keep wanting to move my right shoulder back inward.
As I've tried the same as on the video, I think it's more about giving the patient a habit to walk straight without back bending.. Really nice so far I'll try it for more times and see
@@minaalgeria5688 yes i'm shure, i have all the problem he is describing in worse and after 1 try i Can tell you its great and will work. I do a lot to get a better posture and nothing work like this, i feel it in one try
Hey Doc! I tried this for the first time and it worked amazingly well, I could feel my muscles 'pulling' me back into proper alignment after doing the exercise. My question is how often would you recommend doing this exercise? I don't want to do it too much and risk injury.
It felt so good! My forehead posture was immediately inversed after 3 minutes without even force myself to do it! It's the best exercices I find on the Internet and I will give y'all some feedback after weeks or month, I started today 16/02/2019. I'm doing a bunch of shoulder and chin tuck exercices too and I order a styrofoam roller from Amazon today.
Personally, I adore this “doso shocking guide” posture treatment that you can also lookup on Google. I have always had bad posture but ever since a colleague told me that I slouched, I want to to treat it instantly. Making use of this material, my muscles are being targeted for fixing my posture. Even with only the first day, the final results can be seen.
Also watch out for wrong tongue position. The tongue should be up against the palate, if not, all your upper muscle structure is broken. Search youtube for more details, it's also important against crooked teeth, for correct breathing, training, and more.
@noname It's never too late to correct a bad attitude., Dr Mew on youtube explains that you can see changes at all age, so 20 is still young. If you don't have nasal constriction and can breathe easily through your nose, consider yourself lucky ! @Banana could be... or is it the opposite ? maybe you are using the right side because the spine is slightly bend, because of a foot or hip issue or position ? apparently short time activities, like eating, have less influence than lighter but more frequent factors, like tongue position while swallowing or at rest. But maybe do some exercises with the other side, too, maybe chewing gum ?
Great video. I think it is strange that the "1st world" countries are the ones that experience the most migraines, neck and back pain. It's all related to posture.
@adoonAlle wa alaykum salam. Yeah it is. But it took a while..it depends how bad the forward head situation is but in 2 weeks in sha Allah you will see the result🤲👍
How many times should I be doing this excercise per day? I want to correct my posture, but how long does it take for the alignment of my ears to be to my shoulders to get into the "straight" position? Essentially how many days to weeks, etc.
Thanks for this! I had been doing something similar using light resistance bands, but using a wall and bodyweight is so much simpler. It can be done anywhere at any time. One question though: is it normal for this exercise to cause pins and needles down the arms and into the hands? Is that a sign that it's "working" or am I overdoing something?
ElSeñorHayden It is not normal, but does happen with some patients. the tingling is indicative of pressure on the nerves exiting your lower cervical spine. The exercise should not only help correct forward head posture but the tingling as well. However, if the tingling continues I would seek out a chiropractor to help correct any misalignments of the vertebrae. Thanks for watching.
Nothing top secret could be understood with just a slightly above average IQ. You have to be at least 145, like me (170) in order to help yourself. That's what I did. I figured out everything Mew talks about and more by myself before I even became aware of him. But merely being in the presence of an intelligent human being is sadly not enough, so this doesn't help you much. Just start plaiying Runescape, Everquest or some equally fringe MMO that doesn't require interacting with females face to face. You can be the alpha male of your own TeamSpeak server.
Thank you for this video, it's great to get an internal understanding of what is happening. Are there any other exercises that you can do to correct all of the either shortened, or long-weakened muscles that you listed off?
So I've been doing this for two months. It didn't fully heal my forward head but my neck feels stronger and I believe it has improved. Are there any next steps to this (like longer reps or more of a lean angle) to add to the routine? How long should be continue doing this? Thank you!
While holding the position, is the upper back area touching the wall or is the head the only part of the body that should be touching the wall? Thanks.
Dr Bradley, can you help me with this exercise? I have a question, as follows: I could not tell whether his shoulder blades were touching the wall. I tried this, doing it so that my shoulders and shoulder blades were not touching the wall, and it hurt the back of my head like hell as I was effectively leaning my entire upper body weight against a hard wall with only the back of my head taking all the weight. Is this how it is supposed to go? I could barely hold it for 60 seconds, and when I stopped I was really dizzy around my head area. Am I doing this wrong? I also tried to do this with the upper edge of my shoulder blades lightly touching the wall and this felt better, but does this mean I would not be benefitting from this exercise? Does this undo the work?
You are correct, the shoulder blades should NOT be touching the wall. If you experience pain in the back of your head, you can try 2 things. First, place a folded towel behind your head for some padding. Second, keep your feet closer to the wall. If your postural fault is significant, you may experience pain, dizziness and difficulty holding the position for 3 minutes. Start with only the amount of time you can comfortably hold the position in. For example, if you can only hold it for 30 seconds, then just do 30 seconds. As your posture, strength and flexibility improve, you can start increasing the time, until you can achieve the full 3 minutes. Good Luck and thanks for watching.
Thanks for this. - I will try this. I have faith I can correct this in time. I have nearly entirely brought back my 20:20 vision (without glasses) thanks to eye exercises, so there is no reason why I can't do this too! I shall drop you a line in a few months to let you know how I am doing. Thanks again. :)
