oh hey, i just subbed to your channel! you're everywhere in a bunch of smash vids, but i had no idea you had you're own channel until i took a look lol
As the guy who discovered the grab glitch and runs the tech page on smashboards, I can't help but feel proud to have been an innovator for this character. It's so great to see so many people getting the information that I originally posted. It's a great feeling. One thing that's worth noting that WASN'T in the video is that DFS (Dragon Fang Shot) actually does MUCH higher KB when charged to 17% damage. It kills a clean 20ish percent earlier. If you've noticed the bite kills far earlier than usual, it's not rage, that's why.
Yeah I remember Corrin had rage in that moment and it was charged but not at all, and maybe it was with the tip of the bat, I don't really remember but i was pissed.
Amazing video, however there is one thing to note: Corrin CAN come back to the stage after edgeguarding with a Down-Air without the need to use Side-B on a wall or footstool your opponent mid-air: - Full jump from the stage and, at the very top of the jump, do the Down-Air - As soon as possible, double jump at the bottom of the stage. (It is also possible to double jump first, then use Down-B) - Now perform the Up-B vertically, which is done by holding the opposite direction Corrin if facing (left or eight) while the launch animation is ongoing. If you input too early, you'll reverse it instead, so be careful. - Corrin will successfully grab the ledge thanks to the ledge snapping if you didn't do it too far from the stage. This takes practise and timing, but I can now perform it consistanly every time. Hopefully it was useful for some of you!
The very first thing covered in this video (shooting the ball but continuing to charge the fang) is something few Corrins I've played online know how to do. It's a fantastic technique, so I'm glad to see it was covered in detail.
Yay! I was looking forward to hearing the combos for Corrin. I've been playing them a lot recently, and the only trick I knew before the video was the instant dragon lunge.
One thing I wish more people talked about is that it's possible to use a dair offstage and survive if you start at the height of a full hop offstage and angle the up b completely vertically.
Thanks for the tips, I've started maining Corrin and this video helped me not only with combos, but also with situational options. (I never knew Corrin's counter was so OP!)
Corrin seems like a really good option vs high tier characters, like Diddy Kong. I expect him to be at least mid-top if not top-tier. Also thank you again for finding these awesome smash combos for the smash community to explore!!
Awesome video! It's worth noting that a carrying down air where you drag your opponent with you can very frequently combo with an immediate forward smash if you can predict which direction they'll fly.
really awesome video! but I need to input something. Corrins FSmashs Hitbox on charging has so low hitstun so you can be able to escape it with jump, fast attack or witch time. have done it with witch time many times to catch them off guard (together that they are in charge smash attack, giving them a greater KB growth for death)
Smashcorner, Corrin can recover from a Dair without footstooling or being on a walled stage. The best example is RAR Fullhop Dair at the apex of your jump, DJ, Up B at the apex of your jump, and angle up B backwards. Please correct this.
Hey, I just wanted to say thank you for this video, because I wanted to main Corrin since he was announced and now I'm happy that you showed me and many other Corrin Mainer these helpful tipps. Again: Thank you very much! :-)
+Crilix Why Roy doesn't have Ranged attack, I don't know. He would be better if he did. And come on, both Roy and Ike have 1-2 swords, both being what they wield in smash.
Yes. Down tilt, up tilt, up tilt works really well from 0-15%. You can also follow up with aerials if the other person hasn't done anything to stop you yet
+BestTitanosaurus Actually, the same person that makes videos on this channel has made Splatoon videos in the past so it's not too farfetch'd for him to make pokken videos as well.
MSC, add a note to the Down Air section. Full hop, then Down Air from the top of your jump, into double jump Up Special held backwards (holding it backwards send you straight up) WILL reach the ledge.
Lennychu Irrelevant. I was just correcting the base damage. Not talking about viability or use, just clarifying Corrin's damage is not the highest of counters.
+DeNile Reid For whatever reason, people are mad at Sakurai for not making Female Corrin the default (even though it was Intelligent Systems' decision).
+DeNile Reid Not sure if all these comments you're referring to got buried or something, I see more people complaining about the people who are supposedly complaining about him saying 'he' than I actually see people complaining about that. That was a mouthful.
1:37 It should be "One fewer thing to account for." Some may hate me for pointing this out, but I think it's important for people who speak a lot and to as many people as you guys do to understand this little grammatical rule. Great video, and thanks for the tips as always.
Random Caterpie You Saw That One Time *sigh* saw that one coming...... Just because he's bad doesn't mean he isn't competitive. Wouldn't it be more casual to pick a top tier character that you can pick up and play than a character that you have to work hard at to master?
+My Smash Corner You can do Dtilt -> Utilt -> Short hop Dair -> Run Up Instant Dragon Lunge -> Kick at 0 on heavyweights and the same combo works on mid and lightweights if you remove the uptilt. You can also lead in to this with a Nair or fast fall fair.
Hey, Ambrose. I just want to thank you for all of your hard work. :3 I hope you realize just how much you add to the metagame, and how helpful you are. Thanks so much, and keep doing what you enjoy!
Corrin has one combo that works at low percentages. A down-tilt followed by an up-tilt backed by an up-air/neutral air. I prefer the neutral air, because if not timed correctly, the up air can be air-dodged and punished. Just a cool combo you didn't mention in the vid.
Thanks, MSC! Now instead of people constantly spamming B and Side B, people will try to do these combos and fail by accidentally SD'ing. You are the voice of our generation!
I have to mention Corrin has a very good ledge game. If you trump your opponent, you have your side B, your forward smash, and your meaty aerials. If they expect you to trump, they're gonna spam a getup option. That's when you can use your side smash to catch every single getup option!
You forgot to mention, and I learned this from tips, is that Up B can go farther by inputting the direction opposite you are facing, essentially Up B, quarter turn joystick to your back. This makes Dragon Ascent a much more viable vertical recovery option.
Nice video. Also another combo you can pull off with Corrin is to stun them with Dragon Fang into aerial follow ups such as 2 FAerials into an UpAerial or Special Up B at medium percentages.
Good video, thanks mister =) Corrin is my main, and has clearly some power to deal with ! I like the fact that Bair pushs you, you can follow some combos thanks to it, and even further edgeguard.
THAT UNDERTALE MUSIC. YOU JUST GOT A SUB. (lol this is my first video watching you, I just watched some others and you seem you like a good channel) :)
Corrin can also extend the height of his up-b where it's almost the same height of Marth's up-b by inputting the direction you want to go and then holding the stick back
You can actually use down air offstage and make it back without walls, just fullhop, dair at the apex of it, and UpB while holding back for maximum height. It's nice to have that option on every stage.
Despite the fact that it's interesting to hear that the Lunge Kick can go through projectiles, I feel like wiser opponents will most likely choose to use Shield or Attack Corrin up close instead since he/she is within range for them to do so and that Corrin is vulnerable in the SideB. Plus, if you do manage to catch them when they're throwing a projectile, you'll seem to get them with only the soft hit of the kick which isn't too strong
Dissappointed... no one commented on the AWESOME Undertale background music so epic brings back so many memories, definitely and indie worth playing thrice
+Reginald Verrier I swear i commented before he did either that or i didnt refresh the video, either way that comment wasnt there when i posted this comment
Good stuff. I'm looking forward to trying this stuff out! I really wanted to up my Corrin game. I know they're easy to use but I really do enjoy how they play, and I've been wanting to learn real stuff soon, as I've just been getting by with people not knowing what to do against Corrin yet lol.
I knew everything besides the footstool from B, I always went for a chase but at low % the dair side b is a better option to build damage; and the lunch cancel that it also looks cool lol.
Corrin can actually survive down air without the wall trick. If you mash jump and use up special at the height of the jump, then pull back from the direction you're facing (since his recovery isn't completely vertical, but angles forward) it sends him upwards and not as much forward, usually allowing him to grab the edge at the very end of his recovery.
