This just highlights two things: #1 - never, ever, think that cops will de-escalate a situation #2 - this cop, knowing his camera was on, fully assaulted this woman while violating her constitutional rights, pointing to the complete authoritarian power trip these cops are on.
Police cost tax payers so much money. When will they take it out of the officer's checks. American tax payers should not have to be paying for these idiot's mistakes.
The same people who whine about the government wasting tax payer money or overspending, are the same people who create the problems that the money goes to fixing. Conservatives suck
The info he received wasn't even a crime. The "crime" of yelling was dispelled by both parties when the cop came by. Dude, should've saved taxpayers money by walking away.
Officer Johnny John-Boy must have gone to one of Dennis Benigno's "Street Cop" courses. All they do is teach cops to break people and their constitutional rights.
@jes...Cooperate to what? There was no crime. Both said they were ok. Cop at that point should of walked way. Remember cops work for US not the other way around...WE HAVE RIGHTS. Some cops just can't accept that.
I'm reminded of a Judge Dredd story where another judge assaults a citizen even though the citizen was merely exercising his right to speak at one of the few legitimate speaker's corners, following the assault the judge's partner calls out Code 99 Red, to which all nearby judges respond to. Once the rogue judge is caught, Dredd's thoughts tell the reader that since no one died, the rogue would be sent for psychological readjustment on the grounds that his 20 years experience was too good to waste.
You can (and should) feel bad for Everyone that experiences this. Reserving it only for people who have it worse or more often is HOW it gets to be so prevalent.
The fact that police are supposed to be "law" enforcement but are deliberately trained to do everything unlawful to citizens (assault and illegal detention) and that they have a "...use of force policy..." is wild but not at all unexpected or off-brand.
Once the cop says detained you can’t leave until they’ve completed their “investigation”. Basically at that point your in their grasp. There are tactics to get out of it but your really fighting there ego at that point. Ask for a supervisor and pray their better than this asshole. Plead the fifth. “I don’t answer questions” is a good one.
When an officer has too much time on his hands... There must be no real crime in that city for police to devote this amount of effort against a mature woman
This incident like so many others are an explicit video evidence that despite the so called de escalation tactics training it has not before, not now and more than likely not in the future be the go to response for the police officers no matter what political affiliations the city, town or state is in control of. This issue is purely a matter of cultural belief system handed down from generation to the next generation. Any time a fear base response is the go to response then nothing will ever change.
Something similar happened to me, no crime they just didnt like my hands (thumbs technically) in my pockets and charged me with assault on an officer and resisting arrest. I got to the arraignment and that offense assaulting an officer wasnt listed. No crime was listed. They bashed my face into a curb multiple times while on top of me for no crime committed. Dismissed all charges. However they took me to the hospital and had me seen for injury but never told me that my teeth were all broken. No mirror no picture nothing. I literally could not feel my face or my lips or my tongue but because i didnt know what happened they never bothered to write down any injury. I made bail before booking but the bail bonds had to wait two additonal hours because the cops wouldnt tell them any crime. Twenty five grand bail, its two and a half Grand down. No crime means no crime. Im only now some four later getting dentures. Fuck.
I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, where did this happen and what police department? Have you told your story to any civil rights attorneys? Have you been able to get bodycam footage?
@@Tortilla.Reform no. Ridgecrest California pd did not use body cameras at the time. They do now. I have not spoken to any rights lawyers about it, no. I wish I had.
That's ridiculous for a civilian who's dealing with a personal and stressful situation to call down and talk to the cops who really don't need to be inserting themselves. Adults are being adults and these clowns jump in shyt that they don't belong in. This is corn ball, softy behavior by that cop.
The funny thing is the cops have guns & tasers etc. are so brave and tough against innocent people, but when someone pulls a gun on them they scramble for cover and when shots are fired at them, they panic....What would happen if it came down to a gun battle? I mean the possibility could be just a matter of time if these cops are not careful and they go too far with their abuse of power.
I handled innumerable incidents like this early in my law enforcement career. When there is obviously no crime & it was just a minor domestic argument, you ask if both people are okay & then go handle your next case. This wasn’t even an incident until the officer turned it into one because he didn’t like the woman’s attitude. This officer should have been weeded out in the psychological screening prior to being hired.
Mental health issues are real and these cops need to be trained how to handle these situations! Please hire more empathetic people who actually care about Protecting & Serving!
Cops also need training on the law. No crime was committed and he had zero grounds to hold the woman against her will let alone assault her. This was egregious violation of our constitutional rights.
How do you not realize that the taxpayers are being punished for this cop's criminal behavior? She wasn't breaking the law. All evidence pointed to it being a civil conversation. She had never been trespassed from the property. Which makes this aggravated battery and kidnapping.
She doesn't have any case at all. She refused to comply with lawful commands several times, tried to leave in the middle of his investigation and then resisted. She's an entitled dummy who deserves to go to jail.
Just so everyone is on the same page. You are allowed to leave in the middle of an investigation if you are not detained. So that points is dumb and can be ignored. Everyone knows “didnt comply with lawful commands” never really holds up in court due to the subjective nature of what law enforcement deems as “lawful commands.” The increasing need to create problems was kind of the cop’s own doing as it was the cop creating unneeded problems. The hurt feelings of police is not evidence that she has no case. Im going to have to side with the people who understand the subject and the laws involved, and thats not some random person on the internet repeating lang debunked talking points about law enforcement
He didn't make any "lawful commands". To make "lawful commands" he would have had to tell her she was being detained. This was a nothingburger until he made it into a whopper.
@jonr473 Jon, you need to start showing respect to officers of the law. If you were in my company right now, I'm afraid I would have to slap you around and let you know the kind of guy I am. Please don't think I would be doing this for my satisfaction, more so to teach you a lesson in front of your boyfriend or girlfriend. I once pulled a man's earhole off, yes its true, but I gave it back to the fool.
In all fairness she should have followed the officers instructions. She was being difficult when the officer was just trying to figure out what was going on. I know he didn't technically say she was being detained, but what you have to understand is that if a cop is on the scene they arevin charge and can do pretty much whatever they want.
Americans have rights. Your "but" is bullshit. Stop apologizing for violent pigs whose egos get bruised when told "no". All she did was walk off, which she is allowed to do. Everything after that is the pig escalating the situation because she did what she was allowed to do.
He never said she was detained and he never gave a crime. The cop illegally detained her. Even if he did , he has no right to assault civilians. Shut you're fucking mouth.
