bb.... we all have our opinions. Perhaps you dont like that.. the interview is great, you know what is happening in that prisson and you know this man is rotten. I hear him talking all the time and sure you have an opinion and that is good. What is your problem?
Mad corruption i know i use to work in commisary back in 89/91 C73 i use to steal the cartons of cigarretes Oficcer Peck And Ungarro where in charge but they did not care i was getting high almost for a year off the cigarretes from the commisary in C 73 i was in 7upper cell 3 mad high every day. My drugs were deliver rgt to the door at night time..
Sunshine Mo Mo Naah his crimes were victimless. The point is the viewers want to hear the man’s story & not feel like Ebro is chastising the ppl getting interviewed. He did it with Kodak. When he does this it takes away from the interview & seems as if Ebro is the morality police.
I saw the title of the video and clicked the link thinkin I was gonna get some good info on co corruption and I ended up watching this gentleman get grilled Fox News style
I find it Ironic that Ebro calls him a snitch yet he praises Rappers who blatantly snitch on themselfs, their hood, and people in the street life ALL THE TIME. Yet Ebro don't dare call rappers snitches...
+AnonBelieverOfGovLiez yeah i think a lot of people see the major hypocrisy in this interview (based on the comments). HOT 97 takes a big time L for this, and could have used this for something meaningful rather than a moment to express personal distaste. if i wanted to read an editorial on the subject i would not click on the link to an interview...and this was not a good interview, it was a disgusting cross examination
The cohosts need to learn how to interview guest. There is too much laughing and joking. There is nothing comical about this subject or this guest. Embro and the other male host are acting silly and ignorant at times in this interview. This guest has a great story to tell and they are missing out on a great opportunity to educate the listeners. I understand this is a hip hop station but..there is time for music and a time for educating. Use the airwaves more effectively and wisely. Stop the dumbing down of the hip hop generation.
I agree and he needs to learn to have people skills and take his dumb-ass emotion out of his questions you don't have to like what that person's done but you have to add very professional and he is not doing that right now
I agree with you 80k is good money he was greedy and didn't care about the people he was being paid to look after...I'm glad he got caught and done his time hope other will learn from him..
Yes I agree I thought it was just me I feel that he's very arrogant I feel like there's no structure on the interview questions that he supposed to ask to his guest I find that Ebro needs to learn about people skills he irritates me the only time I seen him act like a pussy he's when he got called out and expose the f****** Nicki Minaj
Naw Ebro just isn’t showing mercy to a corrupt snake!!! Just think of how many people this guard affected with his corruption?! He should be exposed and treated harshly. I hope he never find a job working in authority!
Wtf🤷♀️ is the interviewer part of the New Rikers staff..why is he so mad at dude for breaking the silent of the real criminals??!!! I would've got up and walked off!!!
Is it just me or is the whole attitude they're giving this guy a double standard when they interview artists all the time that talk about all their criminal activity in they're music and they give them praise? What's the difference when he's writing a book about it and lots of rappers claim to still be doing their dirt
It's you. Most of the time , especially if they are new artists, ask why they make that kind of music and if that's what we are going to expect from them in the future. I don't remember any praise.
you're right. they bring artists in to interview and act all buddy buddy and hug their nuts when these artists are rapping about some bullshit and criminal activity. This dude is a real dude that actually did the shit he talks about and paid the price for it and they're giving him a hard ass time like he's the only one that ever did it. This shit has been going forever and it goes on all around the world. Yet these rappers snitch themselves out on a record and nothing happens to them. You think they really did that shit they rappin about? Fuck no.
Jose Galvan Damn I agree with everything you said, but Hot97 is with all kinds of bullshit so it's not very expected of them to be respectable to anybody that deserves respect.
Andrew Bullard am i trippin or was that chick about to pull some biased bullshit and bitch about the prostitution just cuz it involves women? like she sounded disapointed he didnt get more time for it. but ya they just aint dick ridin him since he aint an artist.
That's old man Ebro for you. Just a horrible interviewer for years. Lmao. He can coordinate the hell out of good Summer Jam though....that is a tough job.
This is stupid. Here's a CO who actually gives a window into what happens and all that is asked is "why are you making everyone look bad." What about this question: how is it that this situation is ALLOWED to exist? How many officers are involved?
They'll deal with rappers and others who make millions promoting crimes or their troublesome past but are giving him a hard time for his mistakes? Some crimes even the same others claim they have done in other interviews...I dont get it. All I'm saying is if this man were rich and famous they wouldn't have treated him that way. I can't be the only one who noticed this.
I respect this man for his honesty. He did his time for his crime. Now don't cross another fucking soul. May You Be A Blessing To Others As You Move Forward In Life.
Kareem Colebrooke sometimes a real snitch will put someone else as a snitch to cover up there snitching and also a real snitch can cause someone else a death or real problem
Party people rikers island always had a shank thanks to thev officers even had a butcher knife back in 91 got it from the pantry since they never use to check me
No one is immune to the system already in place in America. Congress can pass a law today right under your nose & by tomorrow you would become a criminal. T.A.P.S. act for one. It's a shame to think that you think it cant happen to you. You can be in an accident & kill somebody & just because you where distracted, or on the phone while driving & made a mistake, all of a sudden be facing a prison sentence. We break laws everyday & go about our lives & never know majority of the laws being passed. You can become a killer in a matter of seconds if somebody threatened your life or family & in that split second a decision that you make could cost you dearly.
The people who are interviewing him are so negative (non-verbal). This is definitely not hip-hop radio. Real Hip-hop radio would give him a chance and listen and not sound and look condescending towards him. Don't recommend this station.
You are right the real hip hop has been hijacked this show is bought and paid for by the opposition that's why they fucked up the interview this is why I decided not to be a journalist even though it was my passion I could see the corruption at a very young age!
Ebro, ya act like a broad in this interview kid. Sounding like dude hurt you or your kinfolk; let dude tell his story and quit acting like a jaded female!
But if he had on J’s and a 5k dollar chain and skinny jeans and a few braids she would be trying to sneak in.. gtfoh woman always trying to play sensitive yet be all up on those back alley street dudes
if an inmate wrote this story they wouldn't have believed it and it wouldn't have ruffled so many feathers. it would have just been written of as fiction, and another hood " jailhouse" novel.
this dude was mad real, accepted the consequences of his actions, and took full responsibility. salute, glad to see you're attempting to turn your life around and trying to do something positive
I agree with Keenan. San Francisco is worse than New York in terms of the high standards of living. So whatever you guys have out there in NY, SF has it worse. Gentrification's been happening for many years in the city. 80k for one person is lower-middle class, it's a good start on a living for one person. Places to rent near the projects start out at around $3,500-$4,000. Even neighboring Oakland has risen in land prices and everything else.
NoLimit2MyCashMoney Minimum wage is less than half of that at $11.05. It's that scary. The only people who can afford to live in the city are lawyers who get work, doctors, people in finance, people with computer degrees and people working in Silicon Valley for Microsoft, Google, etc. The Silicon Valley is the reason why San Francisco and neighboring areas in the Bay Area have gotten so expensive and people of color being pushed out.
Especially since no prisoner has ever camenout and tried to throw shade at ross you would think an ex prisoner would try to make a buck off ross if ross was actn like a regular C.O
He's probably thanking the Lord this book came out. For damn sure he will perpetrate like he was crooked. Does that even help? "Yeah I was a CO but I was corrupt I'm still hood right.... right...."
D NT610 Nobody has come out and "Booby" Williams has always been in his corner. He is talking on the whole "Hood Billionaire" album. That's one of the biggest drug dealers in miami...
5:03 Nah Ebro you can't blame the book, you gotta blame the culture of corrections. I'm sure homies book doesn't try and shame every corrections officer but at the same time even those who didnt partake in the crime were certainly aware of what was going on and are complicit by way of silence. Just like so called "good cops".
Good interview, sheds light on the subject without throwing anyone else under the bus. Just his personal journey and trying to show people that stories are just stories
I read Gary Heywoods book and I really enjoyed it I had it sent from America here to U.K. it was well worth the wait and I think Gary fell into Corruption because of Severe financial pressure which I understand it essentially it was not just ime gonna rob and profit now I got a job of trust ime eagerly awaiting Gary's new book good luck Gary L Heywood 👍
This interviewer really has a way with sensationalizing the news. The guy he is interviewing realizes his mistakes no need to keep rubbing them in his face. not to mention making him out to be the villain when he is trying to get his shit in order. Give the guy a break dude, the only person who brings in people to bash on them are people like Maury, and Jerry Springer.
If he could get a job today at a jail he would he only feel remorse because he got caught when the system gets through with u they throw u away /set u up for the fall
When a person is convicted and serves their time they should not have to live their whole life paying for that crime ........thus is done to make sure they end up back in the system it's wrong they need jobs
Damn hopefully, he can get them teeth fixed with the proceeds from the book. Every time I think about what happened to that kid Kalief Browder in Rikers makes my blood boil over.
