My corsa 02 i just bought the radio cd player for the car was in safe mode. I had 2 metal keys for my old ford ka so i cut the keys in half and put them in the holes. And voila i managed to pull the radio out and thank god the code was written on the casing. Happy days got it working and happy with the factory cd radio. But good to know if you want a better system great video.
Just build in a radio in my Corsa C just like you did in this video, and it works like a charm. Many thanks for uploading this video. Greetings from Holland. 😉
Grensgeval Ja dat mag zekers. Kijk hier maar eens; www.winparts.nl/interieur-bekleding/inbouwframes-radio/opel/corsa-c-f08-f68-bouwjaar-2000-09-2009-12/c1779-588-14693.html
Thanks for the super-helpful video! It enabled me to replace the factory radio with a mechless Kenwood KMM-BT304 today. I have a 2003 Opel Agila with a conventional ignition key, so I had to switch red and yellow.
Hey man, really helpful video, appreciate it, you helped me to finally change my old radio to new one because it wasnt working, everything is perfect 👍🏻, love you ❤️
Thanks for this vid, PJ, very helpful. Didn't work for me tho: My new radio gets hot and no sound. I read it gettin hot has to do with speaker wiring. My connector cable has an additional orange cable at the black speaker plug. Do I just cut it? Thanx!
@@Viikk785 You can buy an adapter that you connect exactly the same but it also has a port for the wheel controls. Just search corsa c wheel control adapter and they come up for like £20 or if you still have the stock radio you can buy the full kit for £30 on amazon so all you need to buy is a stereo and you are sorted.
have you got a video for the corsas with the newer wiring? i have a 2006 corsa and just can’t figure out how to get the power into the radio everything is wired correctly but i guess there is no ignition power from the red cable in the ISO harness
I know this is an old video, but thank you so much as this has helped me install a new radio, however could you explain how to swap the wires around so that the radio will store stations please? Thank you x
The cable that comes with the new radio has a yellow cable and a red cable, both these should have a joint in the middle that pulls apart. Pull apart both wires at the centre joint and swap them so that red joins yellow and yellow joins red.
Hi! First off, thanks for the helpful vid! I have one problem though, my new radio doesnt turn on at all, the old one works perfectly fine, so im guessing it has something to do with the adapter, could you suggest something?
No power is caused by two possibilities. One is no good earth (black cable) the other is one of the two power cables are not getting 12volts, one is red the other is yellow. Check your car owners manual for radio fuse first.
Hi, I've got a CDR 2005 that won't enter the code...as in, pressing the AS and power button won't do anything (with ignition on). I was thinking of buying a similar unit with the code but it's really expensive. I think just buying an adapter kit and a used aftermarket unit will be cheaper...seems to be pretty easy to install it by looking at it here.
i have got a 2003 corsa club there is old wireing but i want to put a cd30 vauxhall cd in but the block on the cd30 is different wireing what part do i need to adapt it.thanks.
Thanks for this really helpful video. However, if I want the steering wheel controls to work, how do i go about doing so? Do i need another connection of some sort?
I am looking to replace my unit like this in my 2009 Utility, does the clock/radio face above the Hazards and airvents still work even though the Radio Isnt connected?
Thanks for the helpful tutorial was the iso harness number you mentioned for the later wiring or earlier version iv been buggered with the later wiring and need the earlier wiring if that makes sense
The early Corsa is on factory ISO connection that will plug directly in to the new radios cable. Just swap red and yellow power cables over so that red goes to yellow and yellow goes to red. Most have bullet connectors in the middle of the power wires to make this easy to do.
Sounds like maybe a previous owner has put something other than release keys in the holes. This does tend to break the release mechanism and so a lot more force on the sides of the radio is required to remove what will be a mangled mess each side.
Installing a new radio like that one ,I have to forget about the steering control ?! There is no way to do connect it like the original radio was connected ?
No you can but interface units to allow the steering controls to still work. Example - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CTSVX001-2-RADIO-STEERING-WHEEL-STALK-ADAPTOR-CONTROL-FITS-VAUXHALL-ASTRA-CORSA/293087233713?hash=item443d5c46b1:g:tqoAAOSwV69c2YEJ
I have just installed a sony stereo to to my corsa c and i am having a memory problem. Everything works great, i can turn the ignition off and it beeps to remind me about the face, i turn the car back on and everthing is still saved, although when i turn the ignition off for more than roughly 2 minutes it factory resets? I swapped the red and yellow as i am supposed to and connected everything how you have and how many other tutorials showed. Anyone know the problem?
Sounds like you canstant live is connected to the wrong colour. Make 100% sure your newly wired in switched power does to the radios switched power and then swap the bullet connector so that constant power is going to the radios constant. I see this a lot because after patching in the new switched power from the fuse box you end up with three power cables.
@@PJsprojects Sorted the problem not long after commenting. It was what you said. I have an 02 corsa but the red and yellow didnt need switching like i thought.
Ok so I've got a Corsa C dual fuel 2005 with the same style key. However my stock radio is the CD30. Can I use the same kit and similar unit and not have to bother with getting another power source from the cigarette lighter socket?
Every aftermarket unit I have ever seen needs two power sources, one constant power for the memory and one switched power for the unit to function. So yes you will need to run a power cable from a switched source and yes I have seen people use the cigarette lighter socket power for this.
You will need this type of thing really - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-Opel-Astra-H-2004-2010-PIONEER-Car-Stereo-Steering-Wheel-Interface-Kit/272349909234?hash=item3f6951d0f2:g:0KIAAOSw5KFbRyIa
Both red and yellow wires than are in the wiring loom that came with the new radio should have bullet connections in them, simply pull apart the connector and swap so that red goes to yellow and yellow goes to red.
Does it work with every opel corsa c? When i searched it and checked for the fp-19-00 S (dont want autoleads cause of the big shipping), and i put my model it shows me "This part is not compatible with Opel Corsa C 2003 C [2000-2006] Box Box 1.4 1364ccm 90HP 66KW (Petrol)" Is it so deferent or am i super finicky??
You could try another brand like Connects 2 if the shipping is to high. www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/stereo-fitting-accessories/vauxhall-black-fascia-plate-ct24vx01?istCompanyId=b8708c57-7a02-4cf6-b2c0-dc36b54a327e&istItemId=-xwwarwmtip&istBid=t&_$ja=tsid:94971|cid:868555897|agid:49387676812|tid:aud-297219197929:pla-331764450417|crid:203456299599|nw:g|rnd:10711635519364893239|dvc:c|adp:1o1|mt:|loc:1006674&gclid=Cj0KCQiAjszhBRDgARIsAH8KgveKcbxzTka_PaDo-Tdw2FhbUbvR5dob6xwxSDXSwEQa1ydNalNsq20aAjfEEALw_wcB
PJs projects Ok great thanks. Was just a little confused due to I got sent a wiring harness with my new stereo. Will I have to use that harness or just use the wire from the original stereo connecting it into the new stereo? Is that easier?
Hi, I was wondering if you're able to help at all. I have a corsa b (1998) with a Sony CD player fitted. I also have a parrot fitted but they are both controlled by the ignition. Is there a way to separate them so that i Don't lose all of my pre set channels every time I turn the ignition off but keep the parrot powered by ignition only? Kind regards Nathan.
On the wiring to the Parrot kit you will see two black fuse holders, one is in a red cable and one is in a yellow cable, undo both fuse holders(they untwist to get the fuse out) swap the top parts over so that red cable goes to yellow and yellow cable goes to red. In other words switch over the cables where the fuse joins them, this will then make sure you keep your radio stations and also if the Parrot kit has a screen it should display goodbye when the ignition key is removed.
Not without a steering control adapter such as this - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Steering-Control-Adaptor-CAR2003-2004-CCR2006-CDR2005-For-Vauxhall-Corsa-2004/370830464224?epid=565045463&hash=item565737d4e0:g:~ucAAOSwzcNb7Cpc
I got the same sony a400bt as you i did exactly what you did with the yellow and red wire change thing, but still it wont save the settings. any ideas why?
In that case you need to get hold of a multimeter and test that the backup power feed is always constant live and not cutting out after a certain amount of time. It's not uncommon for this model of Corsa to have either ignition switched power faults or constant power faults. Either are easy to bypass, just fine a new constant power feed from you fusebox and tap in to that with a fuse spur to supply power to your radio.
hi i live in mexico and i have a corsa 2007 i would like to change the autostereo of the way you executed it but where i live they do not sell these accessories like the harness and the cover or front of a din to put my new stereo you support me with giving me data where I can buy these products ,,,, thank you very much
Try this - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FP-19-00S-Vauxhall-Corsa-2000-2005-Car-Stereo-Fascia-Full-Fitting-Kit-Silver/300989118840?hash=item4614597978:g:HWcAAOxyZwpSWrMR
Sounds like you either connected both the yellow and red cables to a constant live circuit or your ignition switched output has gone faulty(very common on Corsa C. If this is the case you will need to find a switched ignition source at the fusebox and spur off from that.
Thanks for the video... It took me an hour to realize that you have to put the yellow and red cables together. I was already desperate 🤣🙈.... Opel Vectra C 1.8 Z18XE Greetings from Germany ✌️
These adapters are available from places like Ebay, car shops,Amazon - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-Vivaro-ISO-Lead-Wiring-Harness-connector-Stereo-Radio-adaptor-PC2-85-4/150996753556?epid=1905523008&hash=item23281b9c94:g:uPEAAOSwzaJX28Os
very helpful video mate. could u tell me the parts i would need to fit a new KENWOOD DPX-5000BT unit in my VAUXHALL CORSA D (2008) with SILVER CD30 MP3 factory unit. many thanks.
Hi. Yes sure you would need a kit like this - Item number 381704061628 - Kit includes adaptor to run steering controls if needed. Seller assumes all responsibility for this listing. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FK-8412-C-VAUXHALL-CORSA-D-2006-ONWARDS-SILVER-DOUBLE-DIN-FASCIA-STALK-KIT-/381704061628?epid=1777965837&hash=item58df55c2bc:g:FkcAAOSwZVlXik~- Or find those parts cheaper but make sure you get the 103mm cage kit because the cage that comes with your Kenwood is 113mm high and so is to large for the car.
PJs projects www.ebay.co.uk/itm/381161608618 this kit comes with the regular wiring harness (witout steering controls). i think i will buy this kit as its the cheapest i can find with everything included. thanks.
If your car is the older normal iso block wiring (jagged edge ignition key instead of the later smooth edge ignition key) then you will need this type of interface to make the steering wheel controls work. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CTSVX001-2-Steering-Stalk-Control-Interface-Lead-KENWOOD-Corsa-C-00-06/112545472058?epid=1405428979&hash=item1a343b9e3a:g:-MoAAOSwH35Zpqfn Also needed will be a short 'patch' cable for whatever make of radio you buy, such as Sony,Kenwood and make sure the radio has an output for steering controls becuase a lot don't.
I'm guessing your either on about the max wattage input for the standard speakers or looking at upgrading the standard speakers but keeping the original radio?
La verdad que entre haber el video para ver el final,,,,, porque en realidad no entiendo ni verga de lo que esta hablando..... Saludos desde Ecuador 💛💙❤
