Awesome truck ! Awesome exhaust ! I have this exhaust on my 2020 Ram rebel and it’s very refined. It’s loud when you want it to be and quiet when you want that as well . Zero drone .
I just picked mine up 2 days ago , same build with the bed cover, spray in bed liner, running board, and cloth seats I love it!! I will order the corsa exhaust from Galpin gas. And have them install it..which corsa would you recommend if I don’t want to piss off my neighbors?
Haven't listened to the next vid for exhaust but cold start to idle was a huge difference and can see why you keep the garage door down. So on the mod to the exhaust, what did you do about the hanger located behind the muffler. I don't have my truck to go look but it seems from the drawing and the xtreme 21142 that there is a hanger location on the truck somewhere around where you put the longer muffler. Also on the pipe relocation did you split the pipe and expand it to use clamps or butt weld ends? Was this the Corsa 21157, Sport, Single Side. Thanks....Great job figuring out what to buy and how to do it! Magnaflow just told me they have no plans to make anything for the 6.5' bed on the XL.
So, the hanger that is shown right behind the muffler on the 21142 extreme system ended up landing right in front of where I located the longer sport muffler. I opted not to use this hanger. The Corsa sport muffler is something like half the weight of the factory muffler and resonator and even though I'm not using that one hanger, everything is very solid and held in place well with no sagging. It would be very easy to weld on a hanger to the pipe in front of where I located the muffler and I had planned on doing that, but after getting everything hung and checking after some test drives I decided it was unnecessary. There is another hanger behind where I located the muffler that is used as normal. As for the pipe that connects to the back of the muffler, I did cut 2 slits in the pipe and then had an exhaust shop expand it to slip over the pipe coming out of the muffler. I felt that this was much more robust than a butt joint and also allowed the muffler to go rearward just a bit more where it has plenty of clearance. Expanding that pipe is the only thing I wasn't able to do myself and a local exhaust place did it in a couple minutes for $5. The 21157 is the kit I ordered and modified.
I've got two questions for you. With your wheels and tires do you get any rubbing? And does your exhaust throw up any check engine lights or ECU codes?
Would it be possible to do the side exit in front of the rear wheel like the extreme kit? I love the sound of the sport but I really want the side exit in front of the wheel.
I don't think so, not with the sport muffler. To make the sport muffler work on this cab/bed configuration, I moved the muffler back near the factory location so it is probably way too far back to do the side exit in front of the tire.
None at all. I have another 24 F-150 which is a crew cab with 5.0L and stock exhaust with resonator delete. That truck is quieter overall, but surprisingly, the cylinder deactivation is far more noticeable in that truck than in this one with the Corsa system. Corsa always does a great job and is well worth the $$$, in my opinion.
I usually drive in sport mode, which keeps it out of cylinder deactivation. But, in normal mode, I can just barely hear it. The Corsa cancels it out really well. I can hear it more in my 24 XLT Black appearance factory dual exhaust with resonator delete than I can with the Corsa on this truck.
This is the Ford accessory roll up (non-premium) tonneau. I purchased it from the Ford dealership. I believe it is made by Truxedo, and then rebranded with an embossed Ford logo.
The extreme system is a much smaller muffler and louder system. For my taste, the sport sound level is more fitting. It is already plenty loud on cold starts.
