Corsair's eco system is very cool! But ICUE sucks, so wouldn't it be awesome to get your Corsair fans and peripherals to work with other brands on RGB in one app! Well that is what we are going to do today!

I’m just about to switch the case that my system is in, and this new case (4000D airflow) has 4 sp 120s and 2 sp 140s and for a second I thought I was gonna have to shell out for an iCue node AND an rgb hub but now I’m just gonna get an rgb hub and use this software. You’re a lifesaver, thanks.

Great review Mike, I did have a full Corsair system , Aio 280, LL fans , rgb strips, etc, sold the lot, couldnt stand the sheer amount of wires ,controller boxes , hubs etc, you even need a usb connection for the AIO work properly and ICUe can slow your CPU . i only have Armory crate aura sync now and everything is working smoothly except i cant controll my MSi GPU lighting. 13.17 cable is alive

Removed icue + Armoury crate and installed openRGB + FanControl. Never looked back, no more programs clashing with icue software

Interesting review Mike. Although the fans dont appear any diff from my gamemax fans. The software you used is really impressive and that alone would be a good reason to swap! Sadly my mb only gas one usb2 port which is for the F15 case. I never thought past the case needing the solitary port. It gas been mentioned using a splitter but assumed ftom reports only two devices can work at the same time. I digress, amazing rgb software and thanks for sharing, take care Mike n Kath👍

The RGB does need to be software compatible itself to work it seems and some of that still needs work to get it synced but for a free public beta is isn’t bad

no just set the motherboard header to VDC or DC and you can control them with variable voltage

yeah have a play with it, it isn't perfect and there are some tweaks that could be made to make it easier to use, but the results are excellent and way beyond after any of the motherboard manufacturers have to offer

depends on the RGB style and number of fans etc but seems to be in the low single digits percentages for me

I purchased the corsair 4000x case as it comes with 3 sp120s and a lighting node, and for £86 it's not a bad deal I'd say.only thing I'm going to change is the glass front for an air flow front when they become available which should be the end of this month.

@@mikesunboxing as above i have same case and comes with 3 of these fans i also brought another 3 fans same ones as i have in case new sp120 but i only have 1 header left on my mobo as the other 3 are taken up by the 3 fans that was already connected when i brought it so im 2 short everytime i connect 1 fan my pc dont boot up any ideas?

I've used these on several builds in the last few months . Not the best for cable management or price in my opinion . There are cheaper options out there if your willing to look , but saying that Corsair are a very trusted brand with Which as we all know these days is hard to come by. Another awesome video. fan speeds are being controlled through the motherboard as mine are all sp120 rgb fans and would normally connect to the motherboard not the controller hub

Hi Mike, great vids, watch nearly all your computer related vids, anyway, i`m after the same RGB fans but in the 140mm, my motherboard already has ARGB fan headers, so will i still need the node that comes with these fans please... any help is great appreciated, many thanks......(Steve H).

sadly these fans do need to be connected to the node core or similar and then to the USB port internally, the signal is controlled only in software either ICUE or SignalRGB

Dude this thing is awesome - instantly grabbed every device in my system. Here's hoping it doesn't cause VR stutters like icue. Just went pro - working good with commander XT's as well

@@mikesunboxing Can confirm - SignalRGB is controlling lights and cooling without causing VR stutters. ICue caused a regular repeating frame drop. Valve Index @ 120hz. The only real damage is, you have to shut down all Razer software. Profile swapping and all that.

i don't mind dc voltage control personally and still seem to get the same levels of control on them, but for some hubs and motherboards they do prefer PWM

No sorry the Corsair connection needs the hub or an additional adapter to convert it back to the usual 3 pin 5v argb that motherboards have

Hey Mike, I just got the corsair sp120 pro 3 fan kit, I have everything plugged in but my fans don't spin. When I first installed everything turned on my pc and the fans lit up and spun just fine. Afterword after closing everything up, I turned my pc on again and the fans only light up without spinning. I need help any thoughts? MOBO ASUS TUF X570

the controller comes with the 3 pack and connects to a USB header on the motherboard and the RGB is controlled via the Icue software or with the openRGB or signalRGB apps

set the motherboard fan headers to VDC in the bios and then run the fan speed detection in the bios or in windows to make the motherboard detect the high and low speeds the fans are capable of

@@mikesunboxing I just realized why, so I have the o11 dynamic, and th Evans are in intake, and the fans are 9n the bottom, that’s why it’s making noise, so like when I move the fan away from the bottom, the noise is very good, but when I put it on the bot to it’s loud..

pretty sure they went down to zero rpm and about 300rpm seems to be when they kick in again

It depends on the fans if they have a separate pwm connection then you don’t need any software or a node or commander etc for speed only RGB

I had Origin build my PC with these and i can not change the rainbow/RGB at all on my 6 fans using the Lighting Node Pro via iCUE. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thinking about unplugging them :(

the rgb plug doesnt go to sata power, the hub goes to sata power and the rgb goes to the usb header on the motherboard

@@mikesunboxing They do have the Viper STEEL Series on their compatibility list, so hopefully the original Viper stuff will be a quick fix for them. The keyboard you requested is probably a lesser priority than the RAM I requested since more people likely have the RAM so I got that working for me. However if they knew you were a big RU-vidr, I'm sure they'll move a little faster getting the Tecware keyboard integrated for you in order to get good word of mouth through you. I never heard of this company or their software, so thanks again for sharing sir. I don't watch Bitwit much... his channels for people with deep pockets, not for me.

It has a slight overhead on the system as does any resident program, depending on your system this may become more or less of a burden

I absolutely hate iCue. It feels slow and takes way too much space for an app that just controls fans and RGB. I didn't like how it doesn't sync up with my other fans and so on. I've been using the FanControl app and Signal RGB to control fan speeds and RGB respectively. It would be awesome to use the pretty QL fans without iCue

the motherboard is the Asus x570 tuf gaming and the RAM is v colour prism pro ddr4 3600 4x8GB sticks with the plastic diffuser removed so the cooler fits

I don't agree with watching the information only on line, I want it on paper as well, because if I have the PC turned off in order to work on it, I need to have all the information on paper to mount whatever onto the computer case without turning on the PC nor the mobile phone. Plus, if it happens a shortage of electricity, I'd be able to access the information anyway!. New tech doesn't mean that You have to reject old customs like reading on paper; and if You say that less paper means less damage to the environment, well, paper comes from natural sources and can be recycled by the nature quickly; plastic is the problem 'cause it can take ages to be recycled by the nature!.

Not a great video. No fans in the top, so you have positive pressure. You should have had one more exhaust fan. There is nothing wrong with icue, and it also helps to set up a fan curve. Cable management Bad.

@@mikesunboxing if I have ICUE my virtuoso rgb gets massive white noise and static. This a issue since 2019 and they don't give a damn about. There's multiple topics talking about this problem. And they always respond with the samn automated bs.
