I was at Guitar Center in New Hampshire, looking for a Squire Jaguar, but the one they had was used and beat up. Over a row of amps, behind a column, I saw a guitar player playing a strat, he sounded really good. So I walked over to see if he was playing a Squire strat. We got into conversation about that guitar. He said he ran a youtube channel. He then was talking about guitars he played, many brands I never heard of, he said were really good for the price. Chris talked about guitar setup, about buying guitars, and so on. Chris said he does many guitar reviews on his channel. I quickly realized, he has a wealth of knowledge. Glad to have met a real youtuber in real life! Such a kind person!
Got a mint condition second hand one recently from ebay for £550! Was the only bidder, how the f**k that happened i don't know, but sure glad it did, it's an absolute gem, and worth every penny and more of it's full retail price. So much fun. Great playing Chris, and a really good, easy to digest run down of how the Evertune works. It's my first Evertune, of which i am now very much a fan. Keep up the good work !
They really are a great guitar and at a good price. Mine come with tarnished frets but that was probably from the store where they perhaps had it as floor stock but didn't mention that. Being stainless though they polished up really nice. Love the Seymore combo in this as well. Very versatile set. Cool vid mate!
Looks VERY appealing. Will put on my yearly acquisition list, unless knocked off by something even more appealing within the same price range. But it looks like you get a good bang for your buck with this one. Thanks for your review!!
Hi Chris nice guitar & great playing! Re string guage and Evertune: I heard you mention 10s and E flat. I have (on EC1000-ET) changed out strings 10 to 9, now Slinky 8s. I love how they sound and will say when i went E flat, it was pretty much bottomed out on the adjustment close but no bueno. Happy with the 8s in standard tuning and i might be imagining the longer sustain...
Hey Chris. Just found the channel and I love the way you play, brother, as well as your taste in axes lol. Do you think we could get a tour of your guitar collection sometime? That'd be sweet to see them all together with any mods you've made to them, especially if you blessed us with some of your amazing playing on a few of them too!
I don't typically hang on to my guitars for more than a few months usually. I only have 2 or three "long term" guitars. Since I purchase the majority of what I've demo'd on this channel, I need to sell what I have to get the next cool guitar.
Great playing. About the Evertune I haven't tried it. When I hear others play the Evertune it gives me mixed feelings. On the one hand it keeps the guitar in tune which is great. On the other it makes the guitar sound a bit sterile.. because it stays so perfectly in tune all the time. There seems to be little room left for personal touch. The bridge corrects itself. This makes guitar players who use Evertune sound more or less the same. What are your thoughts on this? How does it compare to fixed bridges and tremstyle guitars?
When setup in zone 2, it plays exactly like a normal hardtail equipped guitar. I don't play any different, on an evertune equipped guitar. I think it's a genius piece of equipment! It could be that you are only hearing people playing the same styles of music on an evertune. These do seem to have been adopted largely by the metal community. It's the BEST thing to have in a studio environment and also quite nice to bring to shows. It's going to be in tune and stay that way throughout a performance. Bends, vibratto, the "feel" are all still there.
Chris, but when you can bend the Evertune keeps the overall tuning perfect? or is only when you bend and the pitch does not change and there are no bends?
You can adjust that with the tuners. when you tune your guitar at a certain point your pitch will stop going higher, you are now in Zone 2. In Zone 2 it will stay in tune even if you bend. To get to Zone 3 you tune up until the pitch raises again, then back up to just before it rose, and now you're in Zone 3 and now you can bend. Hope this helps.
You can absolutely do E flat tuning. And it can be set up for drop C#. Th trick is to set the evertune up to be in drop C# as the standard. Then you tune up to the E flat.
Wait a sec... this model has platic nut in default. Are you lying or changed it or you were wrong? If you were wrong please correct it somehow because you are misleading the viewers.
Isn't it obvious that if they don't write about nut material on website it means that there is nothing to be proud of, then it is plastic. There is no information on the official website, but there is information on dealers websites. It is plastic, could you put notification about this somewhere?
