Corvette C5 Seatbelt Sticking Part 1 

Yeah so far it's been working just fine. I kept the pliers holding the belt out for a few weeks and sort of forgot about it but once I took them off everything was back to normal

@@89imp03 thanks. Had the same problem start with mine two days ago. Guess I'll pull it apart today.

@@elishapile6461 did u end up do ing what he did and did it work I have the same problem with driver and passenger side

My driver side was stuck also. I ended up pulling it out a little bit at a time until I was able to get it all out (took about 20 min). Then I clamped it so it wouldn’t retract back in and started washing the belt with a sponge and hot soapy water near the spot where it retracts in and letting the soapy water go down the belt into the locking device. After doing this for about 15 min I started slowly pulling the belt out ( it would only come out about 1/4 in) and letting it retract. Did this for about 10 min and it started working correctly! Left the seat belt clamped out for a few days to dry and it still works properly. Don’t know if it’s going to rust in the retracting device but it won’t be any worse than it was before…..thinking about getting a hair dryer and blowing some hot air down the device entrance to dry out any leftover moisture.
