Hello Sub2club, Over2club,
Meet Dan with his C6 ZO6,
Dan has been working on this car since he sold his 997 GT3, and he has not looked back! Dan points out that there were few things he didn't like on the car, and he has been working on enhancing those issues. I love Dan's technical and methodical approach of building this car and look forward to seeing Dan breaking more PBs! I will make sure to follow up with Dan again in the next phase of this car.

If you have a C5 FRC /Z06 OR C6 Z06 it's literally the best bang for the buck..They are great cars..just decent suspension, seat, steering wheel and you have a car good for street and some track time with very little invested..👍🏽🏁

They're a good bang for the buck at purchase. But try to get work done on it, and you're going to pay Porsche money to get it done right and even then there's no guarantee. Granted you could do the work yourself, but these platforms are pretty complex, aside from oil changes/fluids/brakes. Maybe that just my experience but shops in California especially robbed me blind when I was just getting started, and botched my car. They're in it to build their shop cars, not yours.

@@thegosudriverthey’re really not very difficult to work on. The only single thing that’s a little tougher is the trans axle and torque tube but you just unhook the brakes, wiring harness clips, unbolt the rear upper control arms and boom drop the rear cradle.

Found you a few months ago and have been quietly following the content since. Absolutely love the spotlight you shed on grass-root grip enthusiasts and their cars, man. Track drivers don’t get quite the same attention as high hp and drift content, so it’s very refreshing to see! Can I ask why? Not saying one is better than another because that is subjective but I’m just curious why you wanted to go back to previous gen

@slashnagy6 a couple reasons: the seating position was better for me in the C6 plus it had more space, i preferred the 6spd manual over the 7 speed, i can upgrade the stock radio on the C6 unlike the C7, i prefer the lighter feel of the C6 and finally i think the C6 Z06 and ZR1 are more timeless than the sharper line design of the C7.

I enjoy this guys take on his car and the things he tweaks with to get the enjoyment he is seeking from it. I hope to get enough seat time from mine to be as dialed in as this gentleman. Mine is just a ls3 though. One day I will join the ranks of the z06 crew.

Start with -3 deg front and -2 deg rear for camber. Toe in 4mm total rear and either 0 or a touch toe out front.

Vet gets them wet lol!! Idk how u can go wrong with a vet. Don’t matter if ur racing, driving , car shows whatever does it all. Fast on the road corse or drag strip definitely best bang for the buck.

These are like 200 grand in Aus for a decent one. The C7 z06 is 250+. C8 Z06 starts at 338k+. We get utterly shafted here.

997 GT3 vs Z06? It depends what mods are on each car. The finish line does not care how much you spent on the car.

If you had a 2011 thru 2013 with the Z07 Performance Package you'd have carbon ceramic breaks from the ZR1 2011 thru 2013 are the only 3 years that Package was available on the C6 Z06 in my opinion the C6 Z06/Z07 is the best all around Corvette ever made.

@ballard-bt2ts Good question 🤔 not sure about that , I do know the Carbon ceramic breaks Chevrolet uses are the exact same as Lamborghini so they are pretty good they say they are extremely high quality.

Only the front cradle is magnesium not the rear.

@@Sub2club reason why you clean the cradles alumabrite does wonders on rear cradle, but mag have to use muratic acid to get it cleaned to new. All rear cradles on c6s are the same.

Everyone: C5/C6 Z06 are SO affordable. They’re the best option to go racing on a budget. You only need 3 mods to go fast! Actual Z06 owners: I’ve spent $100k on mods, and I still need these 5 things to go fast. 😂

This is just what this particular guy chose to do to his car. All the other corvette guys that show up to track days smoke the jdm and German cars regularly with much less work done. Not sure what you’re on.

@@slashnagy6 Corvette guys regularly show up to parking lot autocross and HPDE days at our local road course with tire warmers and a pit crew. Then they spend half the day grilling burgers behind their trailer while wearing their hans device and cool shirt lol.

@@slashnagy6 I’d much rather have a cookout with my friends in my back yard instead of a dusty parking lot where the air is full of exhaust fumes and brake dust. I go to the race track to drive fast and chop lap times, not to look like a boomer flexing his traeger grill and stacker trailer to a bunch of 20 year olds in Civics and Miatas.
