Dude! Get a board and go!!!! I am 49 and have not been on a board in the same number of years you have been alive. If your body is NOT too thrashed, go for it-You'll love it all over again! I have only been back on the board for a total of several hours at this point but I have gotten better every time-almost got a shuv-it today-nailed it on the grass but seized up on the pavement-got one good one actually! Anyway-hope you get a board! I wear full protective gear and don't give a shit if I don't look like the cool kids, cuzz I'm not a kid....cheers man!

Pascale Turgeon I'm in Columus OH. I'm in the same situation as you, I probably won't be able to pop an Ollie, I'm still waiting for my board to arrive. I am torn between going to a skatepark or just practice at home at first... On one hand I don't wanna be the 'old' dude that sucks at it while surrounded by uncanny skills, but on the other hand, who cares? The good thing about being this age is that one stops caring about what others think (in a good way). Yeah, I think sharing progress is a fantastic Idea! I will look you up on Faceplant! I'm cool with just practising on my own for now until I am more confident. It's funny though-I just kinda realized that I need to focus less on (worrying about/practising)tricks-I want to just become REALLY confident on the board-be able to pop off curbs, carve etc. I did not not get very good on my old board(which I still have and am restoring)when I was 10 so add the new technology and it is ALL brand new and like you said 'surrounded by (young)uncanny skills/talent! But hey, they sucked when they started and everyone learns news skills at a their own rate-I have to keep telling myself that when I am spazzing out-all right-talk soon!
