I think the l styles are much better imo because you can use any nylon shaft, they don't split at the bottom and last much longer and weigh the exact same as a 100 micron flight
I switched to Cosmo flights and duralumin stems a couple of years ago, and haven't looked back. Expensive, yes, but I've been using the exact same flights for a year or more, and have no more trouble with flights falling out or stems breaking or bending - difficult to fix if you have no spares, or are drunk!
Decent review, if you want Cosmo flights to last then the point protectors help a great deal, I like the Condor Point Guards, mostly for the look and feel, but they are pricey. One added bonus on the Cosmo, is changing flights in a dark pub is super easy, and you never have to deal with bent or broken tangs. I have been using Cosmo flights for many years and, I now mostly use the Fit Flight Pro, which I think are awesome. Keep up the good work on your channel.
I’ve tried many systems. I am a fan of the Cosmo and L-Style systems but I do think that L-Style last a bit better. Might try your flights with a shell lock on a L-Style shaft.
I've tried a bunch of molded flights, but I still prefer using standard folding flights. I use soft tip darts with Mission Titan Pro Ti smooth conversion points, so my flights tend to last a long time now. That honestly made all the difference for me.
A nice comparison mate, I'm still a fan of the traditional setup but I've started to get a few robin hoods recently but I just can't get on with moulded flights because of the thicker material on them. Might have to try the cosmo with the narrow style shafts
I use Condor Axe. My darts are straight barrel, multi ring so not at all aggressive. I use 180 trident nose cones so the Axe lasts forever with no Robin Hoods!
I use 8Flights. I like that they're flexible and will give way to an incoming dart to an extent. They did give me some very curious extreme "bounce-offs" when I was throwing with a lighter touch. The spinning shafts still have that "rattle" that I can't stand and the clear plastic flights are quite a bit stiffer and less flexible than the colored ones. I alternate with a regular setup and feel very little if any difference except the absence of the weird "bounce-off" deflections. The 8Flights do last longer and offer the piece of mind that comes with knowing a Robin Hood is just not possible, while holding their 90 degree orientation. IMO, their worth the money just to not have to worry about my equipment while playing.
I use an aluminum stem and standard flight. I have tried L-Style, Robson and Condor Axe but could never get on with them due to the thickness of the flight. I do however get a lot of robin hoods so I am always looking for a system that woild work for me. One actually cost me a match in a competition that I was in over the weekend. I just ordered a cosmo thin stem and AIR stadard flight to match my set up just like you did so we will see how they work. I am hoping the AIR flights are thin enough to get used to.
Hi dude. New sub. I don't get on with the molded set up but like everything in darts it's all subjective. Oh and I like how you are Straight to the point. Lol.
It might just be imagination but I feel like molded flights fly much smoother for me. I switch between L style carbon shafts and l Style standard flights and winmau vecta shafts and harrows standard flights. Even if it’s just because of my head I definitely play better with the l style system
Hi STTP, hope all is good. Well , is there a flight/stem that I have not tried ?? Probably not. We know the most common & probably most forgiving & most popular with the pro's is standard flight & medium stem . We also may assume that a smaller flight (kite/pear) maybe slightly faster through the air. Then we have the argument's for & against short , medium or long stems. Then the argument's for and against straight barrel , torpedo , bomb ........to be perfectly honest , try them all !!! One you have a barrel shape , length , width & weight , experiment with all length of stem's & all shapes of flight's. When a particular set up feels comfortable & is constantly hitting close (grouping) or near the intended target , your done. Get on the board every day , with proper practice & rest periods & your game should start improving 👍👍🎯🎯 , good vid , cheers.
Could you try uploading games (can be against an app) because we want to see you play and it will be interesting because you’re actually good and it’s just some easy content to make if you don’t have an idea for the channel
The 'cheaper' Cosmo stems used to break on me on a hard floor. I bought the Carbon version and a set of 4 lasts me for actual years. Be interesting to see cost over time, as I'd imagine you have to change both your flights and your stems quite regularly
I fix my stems with an small tool so normally I only change my stems when the pain looks a bit to scratched up. One set of these steams lasts me about 3 months. The flights I go though a set a week on average but the cosmo pear kept splitting at the bottom so I use 2 sets of things a week. It's properly different depending on how hard you throw, the weight of the darts and the angle of entry to the board.
@@Straightdarts i can only assume you were using the AIR thin material Cosmo flights. I never have splitting issues with the chunkier ones. Otherwise, fair enough mate
Great video, have you tried any of the other brands of molded flights? If you have what were they like compared to the cosmo. Keep up the good work 👍🏼🎯
I have used Robson flights and I did preferred them because you can use any shaft with them and they are slightly thinner. I want to try the L style but they don't make any shafts I could get on with. :)
@@Straightdarts I've been using 8 flights from time to time and I think they've got some Shafts similar to what you like, don't know if they're short enough, it's just the price, I got some in a Mystery Goody bag earlier this month.
Great info for dart players. Sort of off topic. Suddenly my darts are leaning right after they hit the board. Have any idea why this may be happening? The other player’s darts were landing straight so I’m ruling out wind draft.
This can happen when you spin the dart more that usual. Are tye darts new and very gripy? This can happen more often when This is the case or you may be griping a big to hard.
Just look at the nose of your darts. Have you considered putting on a point slider or changing to a slider point like the smooth Harrows Apex or something...
Yeah, iv tried everything but I keep things basic. Because my darts land up my flights last way longer than most and my points are extremely sort so I hardy ever get deflections unless I intentionally use the barrel.
I'm using Ruthless RX4 white pear flights. 10 sets for £5. I did use a cheaper unbranded flight, but they stopped selling them. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234410766059?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=N59hvQ90SUK&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=7nUlyOiiQZK&var=533980733828&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Not for me, they broke just as quick and I just pieced the flights to get Robin hoods instead. It's different for eatch player tbf, some get brilliant results with them :)
