I failed miserably trying to make my wig into a high ponytail. i was so disappointed ;o; now that i saw this, however, ill get it another shot and try your techniques. Thank you!
this has been such a helpful tutorial for me! i tried so many other youtube tutorials for high ponytails on non-ponytail wigs but yours is the only one that ever worked for me. I've since tried it 2 or 3 more times on wigs since then and it works every time!! 10/10 :D
I have really thick hair irl, so I'm used to putting three or four elastics in. My wig has much thinner hair, so I had no clue how to handle it. This video helped though. Thanks so much!
Oooooh, I can't wait to try this! For reference, how long was the wig you used here? I want to try this for a character that has a longer ponytail, but don't know how much this would affect the length.
How much does it slide off? I'm trying to improve my current ponytail styled wig but I can't get them to stop sliding back off my head. It had adjusters and everything but nothing is working. 😰
Super late, but for anyone that sees this, buy some wig clips, you sew them right into your wig, and help heavy wigs from sliding back and off. They are in a lot of daily wear wigs, but are usually left out in cosplay wigs. But they are so useful!
You can sew these grip sort of things into the front of the wig cap. They slide into your hair and clip everything in place. They're called; 'snap-comb wig clips' and they're available on amazon, eBay etc. On amazon a pack of 9 is only £5.99. Hope I'm not too late, and this helps!!
I have a short black wig and I bought a long ponytail clip but I don't know how to style the wig to make it look like it goes into the ponytail clip! Help?
0:35 I wouldn't recommend doing this. it will end up damaging the wig and the stand. there are usually straps on either side of the inside of the wig. you clip them together under the chin of the stand to hold it in place
I always secure my wigs like that and my wigs are all completely fine. only using the chin strap won't hold it in place on the slippery surface of the wig-head. especially when you try to pull the hair tight into a ponytail...
Can you still store the wig off of the wighead, like in a ziplock bag? I need a ponytail wig but I'll need to travel with it so I can't bring my wighead with me...
Just be careful with it, id recommend turning it inside out gently and putting the hair into the cap of the wig then into the bag, it may need some light touch ups once its on, but that should protect it.
