This is, imo, the most detailed cost of living breakdown in Da Nang I've seen so far and should be one of the must-see reference videos for expats who intend to live in Da Nang. The average budget of $650~700/month/person to live comfortably in Da Nang is also the expected budget of many expats living in the city I've talked to. The $5,000 budget may be to live in a resort on a daily basis, I think :)) Great content as always. I look forward to see more good quality videos from you.

Man, I am loving your channel. I just found you a couple days ago and I watch everything I can. You give great information, so detailed. I'm a 58, almost 59, years old American, living in Southern California, and this whole Covid-19 thing has really made me think about how I want to live the rest of my life. I had never thought about Vietnam, seriously, but you have definitely made me think about it. I have been planning on retiring in Thailand, I went there and fell in love with with it, but everything you show about life in Da Nang, makes it look pretty awesome! Thank you for the information. I'll definitely be watching more of your older videos and looking forward to your newer ones. Take care.

Thanks a lot Brian... I hope at least you ll come here to just get a feel for it. Even if you choose Thailand. Like you said, nobody even THINKS of Vietnam as an option and I want to show that it is making it s way up... At some point 4 years ago I believe it was ranked as one of the top 3 places to retire in the world!

Brian, I'm at the same crossroads in my life. My wife & I separated back in Sept 11, & not too long after, Covid19 hit. I then said to myself, what the heck am I doing with my life? I need to get out & travel & live life under my terms now. I'm in NYC, working way too much in one of the most expensive cities in the world, not enjoying my life. This pandemic made me realize that life is way too short & I'm eventually going to die, like we all are, so I might as well as live it to the fullest & of course responsibly. My understanding is, living in Vietnam, it's so easy to travel by plane to any of the Asian countries, inexpensively. Thailand & the Philippines are near by & they are amazing places to live & or visit. So why not!? Go for it bro bc I definitely am. I'll see you out there soon enough.

Hi from Taiwan ! I'm really enjoying your videos having discovered you today ! They are very informative and interesting. I live in Taiwan with my indigenous wife and our two grown up children. I've been here since 1989 and love it. I last travelled to Vietnam in the early 90s and stayed in Danang for a few days. In those days, not long after Vietnam opened to Western travellers we could only get 1 month visas and travelling outside of Ho Chi Min City required an approved travel plan where you had to tell the government where you would be every night and the trip could not exceed one week...Things have changed somewhat ! I hope to visit VietNam again once the virus crisis has passed. Thanks for the great videos !

Nice video, Ralph. Great information. You could spend $5,000/month for sure. At least wealthy ones could. You can probably drop that on 1 day even, on fancy wine bottles, nice dinner @ Intercontinental;)) or other fancy resort/restaurants like El Gaucho, I think it's dependent on the lifestyle any expats would choose. :) But, I do agree that on $1000 per month budget, it would give one a good expat experience.

I'm from Vietnam now living Orlando, Florida. The life style and opportunity of Vietnam and the US is very different. Yes, Vietnam housing and food is cheap but you be riding a scooter not a car because electronic and automobile is very expensive. The taxes for a car is 150% of the listed price plus $2000 for each vehicle. I pay $30,000 for a Toyota Camry in the US. In Vietnam it around $100,000. Average income of Vietnam citizen is $400 a month how are they going to pay for it. That why you see most people riding a moped

I can tell you how to spend $5000 a month in VN, but, Christina won't like it :) I live in Toronto, Canada, and my rent alone is $2250.00 a month :( I'm shocked that you only have 1.72 K subscribers. I've learned so much from your channel than any others I've seen on RU-vid. Thank you for sharing your journey! You truly are living a life worth living

Awesome video as always! What company do you guys teach through? Do both of you have your bachelors? My wife and I are planning to move to Hanoi in December, you’re a huge inspiration. Please keep the videos coming!

Whoa! Such great information. Love how detailed you were. The Charles Schwab tip it what I needed. Do you know if you can deposit VND into Schwab then take out USD when you’re back in the states? Keep making the vids

Great video! Hello from the 305 to one of my Miami brother! I've been there to it's a beautiful place and yes does remind me of SOBE. Cant wait to get back there and live full time. Question on the Heath insurance. Have you ever used it? Also with the prices for health being so cheap over there would it be better to just pay out of pocket? Although Safety Wing is pretty much catastrophic insurance if for example you fall off your bike and have major problems however it doesn't cover you for if you are feeling sick and need to see a Dr. I know now they offer a new Remote Health plan which covers for pretty much anything so a real inclusive health care plan but more expensive. So thoughts on if you've used it or have ever been sick and had to see a Dr. or go to the ER. your experience? Keep up the videos finally good to see someone from the 305 finally get what I been saying since I started traveling out there back in 2010 to SE Asia.

Hi Ralph, love your channel. How’s covid going there? Is it open to tourist yet? And if they are, are they requiring quarantine time?

Hey, Thanks, at the moment covid has taken a break from here, we hope it stays that way :) Someone hinted at the fact that soon they may allow people to come in, including quarantine which the visitor will pay for etc... i'll ask about that more...

thanks for the very informative video. I'm 50 and lost my job due to the virus but was able to save to where i can budget about $1500/month. strongly considering da nang or nha trang to retire. very scary as i'm not a very rugged type of person who is accustomed to western comforts. your videos are compelling and i think i'll try once the virus is mitigated. thanks again.

Great video! I know beer is cheap but what about wine/liquor? Are there liquor stores in Da Nang where you can buy wine and booze? Thank you.Da Nang looks awesome
@RalphClescaVlogs
@RalphClescaVlogs 4 года назад
Basically anywhere haha... at all the corner stores they have all the alcohol you may need... Specially in the Expat Areas, because the party doesn't stop... As far as price, it's what you would expect, still very affordable... if you want to go all out buying bottles, you may not be able to handle $50 worth of alcohol with your friends... I will look into that specifically for you when I do a nightlife video...

Thanks for the info, where is the best area to live for expats (walking around without getting ran over)? I've never been to Danang, but the crazy traffic in HCMC was an accident just waiting to happen. I'm currently in Siem Reap waiting for Cambodia and Viet Nam travel restrictions to normalize!

An Thuong... It s where all the activities are and walking distance from everything. Prices are still reasonable there too...
