Cost of Living in Enugu, Nigeria in 2024| Before You Move to Enugu, Watch This! 

The beautiful chief Vera. There’s the aura about you I love so much. Even with the worsening living cost in cost, it is still a very good place to live. N500k to N1k for a 3 bed apartment isn’t unfair if we are being honest. Enugu is a very affordable city. Anyway, you seem to suggest that Ndi Enugu don’t have a problem paying their electricity bills, even with the recent hike. That’s a really good thing, and it proves my belief that South East has the most purchasing power of any region in Nigeria. Another thing you mentioned that seem to confirm this belief is how it seems to be a common practice for Ndi Enugu to buy water in whole tankers, rather than in buckets and jerrycans. And I think this is the case for the vast majority of people cos I’ve seen in several videos of Enugu city most apartment buildings have huge drums in their fronts, apparently for water storage. In many regions, people are finding it difficult coping with the electricity tariff hike. Even here in Lagos, people still they complain

People should pay for water! I’d suggest Enugu state govt find a way to privatize the water scheme, or at least run it commercially. The idea that water should be free is the reason why Enugu doesn’t have water in the first place. They need the money to maintain the whole infrastructure. Water shouldn’t be free simply cos govt is in charge of it. When Ndi Enugu buy from those tankers, don’t they pay? Why should they expect it to be free bcos the govt is the supplier??

The various costs of living you give doesn't sound terrible for someone making a decent salary, but seeing reports about the current minimum wage issue I don't see how people making the current minimum wage can even survive. Is there something I'm missing in the situation?

I was in Enugu two weeks ago, I got a plate of abacha alone for N800, fish N700, total package - N1,500

It is getting worst in nigeria in the last 2 or 3 years due to the presence of terrorist terrorising farming community in the middle belt and the south.
