I’m so glad we grow most of these fruits and vegetables in Jamaica, my mum hardly goes to the store. Once we move from the U.K. to Jamaica I will be able to help her with making food or drinks from scratch, she’s in her 80s.

Go to the local markets and buy your fruits and vegetables, works out cheaper plus your supporting the local farmers.

Most Jamaicans go to the market to buy fruits and vegetables. There is also fresh fish and meats at the meat shop at the markets. U could also shop at the wholesale or Pricesmart where u can buy things cheaper and in bulk.

You might want to use your credit card when buying groceries in Jamaica. The credit cards usually give a better exchange rate than the local cambio or bank.
@jamericangrl816

I do the same. Anywhere that accepts card I use my US credit card (that has no FTF) so that I can get the exact exchange rate

Thank you so much for this video. I'm thinking of going to Ja, it'll be my first visit for 12 years so was looking for some ideas on what to expect cost wise, so your video was a one stop shop for me. Very comprehensive in everyway. Especially like the fact where you forgot your purse in such an occupied public space but it was safe, proof again that Jamaica is no less safe or otherwise than anywhere else for that matter. All the best to you beautiful and genuine straight talking lady. 10/10 from me.

I was in this supermarket last week, and the prices for fruits are shocking 😲. Jamaica is a fruitful island, so imported stocks are going to be costly! Truejuice are the best 👌 Love your vlogs

If you live in Jamaica and buying fruits then you should be charged. One walk round my yard and I have a smoothie and extra fruits... I can source 2 meals per day from my yard. Have yard and plant it up.

Jamaica imports fish from Guyana because of CARICOM trade agreements amongst member states, not because it needs to. Jamaica is 70% of CARICOM'S market.

Locals don’t typically buy fish from the Supermarket. There are plenty of fish vendors/markets all over the island. Buying fish from the Supermarket is something you do on the fly in case you can’t actually get to a vendor for some reason. Not saying the price for fish is cheap but any means, lol but you are guaranteed freshness. You should not be living in JAMAICA buying frozen fish. Just no.
