Wilmington is not a big city. It’s located in New Hanover County, South East of North Carolina, with a population of more than 126,000.
(it is the 8th largest city in North Carolina and the 222nd largest city in the United States)
In Wilmington going out to eat at a restaurant and buying food is considered to be affordable.
The Sales Tax here is 7% (which is a total of 4.75% state tax, and 2.25% New Hanover County tax)

Property insurance is considered expensive (due to wind & hail and possible flood insurance requirements - a con to living on the coast)
